Ko, well... don't say you didn't ask for it rcook. Heh heh. Seriously tho, after seeing the seiousness that you seem to be applying to suggestions and making changes that reflect our interests here, I had a few ideas that I thought I'd like to toss into the pot. And then I took a good look around and decided to wait just a bit before adding to the workload and general harriedness going on around here. As well as not rushing to stick my head out where it could get whacked off at the shoulders by a casual passerby. heh heh. Btw, thanks for the fast attention to our input. So, heres a few things that I would like to see implemented that I think might be either nice or interesting. 1. A Hardware/Technical Forum. I posted this a while back, as well as talking to other members in chat & PM and there seemed to be enough interest to merit looking at. Since I joined, I've seen computer, video card, RAM, motherboard and other questions posted across the length and breadth of the various forums. This would give members a place to look for that stuff so they wouldn't necessarilry have to ask the same thing in several places cause they didn't know it'd been asked alraedy. And, gives us techno geeks a place to hang out where we won't bother the other folks. 2. A link from our Gallery images and Members gallery to our Renderosity Homepages. The link from the membership list isn't very convenient, and unless I'm wrong, is only available to members. This way visitors to the gallery as well as other members could go there and find out a little about the people behind the images (for those who want to put something like that on our HP), as well as give a bit of incentive to develop those pages a bit more. 3. A link for adding images to any post in a thread, rather than just the top one. I realise that this has the potential for being abused, but I see a use for it in the various apps forums: Mostly in the case of WIP threads, it would help to be able to add successive versions as you implement the various suggestions, rather than having to start an entirely new thread. In the others, who knows, mabey it would help to be able to add a humorous cartoon or image to diffuse some of the heat a bit. (Or add fuel to the fires, but that can happen anyway) 4. Reinstitute the Featured Artist on the front page and update it more frequently. I've always liked that feature. I enjoy finding out a bit more on the folks who's art's given me so much enjoyment. And getting another chance to say attaboy in the comment field. 5. A Featured Member of the month or quarter on the Front page. This one is a complementary proposal to the above, but it would give the Staff and community a way to recognise the members who contribute above and beyond the call in other ways than just art. We all know a few of them, the ones who are never too busy to answer questions, email someone a prop, take the time to write up a two page how to for a newbie who's frustrated, or just drop into a flamer with a joke or a compliment and pee on the fire rather than fan it. It would be nice to give those some recognition , and who knows, it might help get us back on track a bit and show new members how we like to behave when we're not frying each other. 6. I dont know if this one's been brought up or not, but a little more space for artist comments under the gallery image so we can set mood etc, without having to comment and rate inorder to expand... Geeze. I thought I only hadda couple. Oh, well as best I could, I tried to explain my reasoning on these. Enjoy, and later... Ironbear

One last thought before I pop out of here to try to render something (Jeeze, speaking of tutorials... smacks self in fore head) Sorry, my personal post it note system... where was I, oh yeah. Mabey we could have a email members vote on the Featured Artist and Featured Member of the month things, anonymously of course so as to give a nice surprise to those lucky folks...

Btw, RC... on the "#6", I was hoping for a upload image along with the url, yknow so that those of us who are HTML impaired could add a pic to the middle of a thread, rather than just the top message. Not a complaint and no hurry... just when ever you can manage to take a look at it.

Uh, #6 was about artist's comment space. #3 was about URL in replies to messages. Is that what you were refering to? Ok, I'll look into it.

Your're right. #6 was on the comment space... DOH! #3 was on the urals and image insert. I like the ural feature, also what I was shooting for was to be able to have an upload image at any point in a thread, not just the top message. (Hit the "Post new message" and you'll see what I mean) I've noticed that with WIP's and image threads, that since you have to start a new thread to insert an image, it can make it hard to keep track of what the origional critique or comments were w/o pageing back through the forum... Anyway... keep up the good work. I'm going to go get stronger coffee now chuckle

Ok Bear, finally got around to "fixing" it. Now you have an "Upload" button on the replies in addition to the "URL".

Cool... No problem. I know you have to be as busy as a one legged man in an a** kicking contest with all of these requests, bug fixes and new features. Speaking as someone who always has 40 irons in the fire at once, I know how had it can be to keep up with it all.
