Some people are having problems with Vue Pro - I was but the issues I was having all seem to have been resolved by the last two releases. If you don't get caught by one of the remaining bugs it plays real nice with Poser 4 and Poser 5. I'd suggest you have a look at Phoul's site (linked) to get an idea of the animation capabilities of Vue 4 Pro.impworks | vue news blog | twitter | pinterest
You could also decide if you really need the special features in Vue Pro... If you don't need moving trees, Vue d' esprit 4 plus mover 4 might do everything you need at half the price. I recently bought Vue 4 after deciding I just didn't need those features for an extra $400 That and the terrifying bug reports kept me from going "pro" and you can always sidegrade in the future and the price will come out the same.
Depends on what you want to do, what your price point is, what your personal learning curve is. There isn't a blanket answer of "one is better." Since you mention both c4d and Vue as "auxilliaries" to Poser it SOUNDS like you mean to create a character or scene in Poser then use a more powerful external render engine, plus environmentals (fog, clouds, skies, trees...) If that's so, add, (as a minimum), Bryce and Carrara Studio to the list. The former has been used by many to import and render Poser items in a larger and more complex environment, often a natural environment. It may be finicky to use but there is a ton of support from experienced users. The latter is now neck-and-neck with Vue for ease of importing Poser scenes and is almost as easy to use as Poser itself, but loses out a bit in the natural terrain department. On the other hand, maybe you intend to model FOR Poser -- and that's an entirely different subject.
Based upon my experience with Vue Pro -- I can highly recommend the software. It's worked great for me. And it does things that Vue 4 just can't......not to mention things that native Poser can't.
Yes, I have seen the discussions in the Vue forum about the problems that others have experienced with Vue Pro. Frankly, those discussions leave me mystified. I haven't had any problems even remotely comparable to the difficulties that a few others have talked about. The program runs "smooth as silk" for me. At least about 99% of the time.
As for C4D...I have no experience with the program.
C4D is, and always has been, a superior program. It is very fast, has a small footprint, few bugs, and excellent support. There are two downsides: It is expensive. The learning curve is steep, and sometimes difficult. BUT, in my humble opinion, you get what you pay for. This is a Volvo or a Saab. And as for the learning curve: a terrible day with C4D is more fun, an more rewarding, than all but the best days with any other software I have every tried, bar none. Don't get me wrongI like Vue 4. Vue 4, C4DXL, and Poser 5 are my 3D programs of choice.
Thanks for response I trying C4d in my friends machine , and its running so fast for Poser or DAZ figures , but for animation i dont have a clue My main consider is animation and faster rendering , i dont think to learn modeling right now , because freestuff mesh provide by anyone here can beat me easily Xenophoz & videodv... What your system ..?
C4D is a great app, but the basic product is weak at character animation. You'll need to spring another 4 or 500 bucks for the MOCCA module if you want to polish up that end of the app. It's also great for rendering, err, if you wanna spend another 4 or 500 bucks for that module. hehe. I think it's the easiest of the biggies to learn. Nice clean interface, good documentaion and almost never crashes. Others might disagree, though. There's another product called Animation Master that is wonderful for character animation. It's only $250 to $300 bucks and you won't need any plugins. It uses spline/patch modeling, though, which drives some of us nuts when we're accustomed to working with polys. Down side to Animation Master is that because of its proprietary (I think) patch models interoperability with other apps can be an ordeal. I love A:M though. There are some pros that you'll see posting on various 3d forums who work with Maya, Max or Lightwave in their jobs, but do their personal stuff in A:M. Good luck in your quest in the massive swirling vortex of info, opinion and confusion that is 3d graphics and animation ;)
