STEVESHANKS: thanks for the reply! Actually, I visited your site some time ago and have downloaded and used the programs a little. UVMapper is great for making templates for textures. On the plus side, I use it to export OBJs to fix any errors - just in case. As for Anim8or, I still need to get the hang of it. :) JAAGER: what you're asking is the very thing I am attempting. I have noticed that there is indeed an option to import a morph for any item in Poser. I believe you can import just the geometry for a clothing item, modify it, and then save it as a morph for that particular peice of clothing (if I understand hte concepts correctly). If you'd like, I can do this and post my results here.
Yes, try it and post the results. I was not able to get a morph on a prop to do what I had intended, until I was told to uncheck most of the Poser defaults on import of the prop. The magic then was supposedly to import, do nothing else and immediately apply morphs - then scale - position and save to library. I have not done many prop morphs , so I have not experimented to see of I could apply a morph to a prop that I opened from the library. My former experience was that they applied alright but that their effect was to move the prop way off screen.
Jaager, I think you've hit it there. The problem comes from the fact that if you move an object in poser and then try to apply a morph that was made from a copy of it in a particular location in Poser Space, then it morphs back to it's original location. A real pain in the butt. What you can do, of course, is keep a copy of the original prop and any morphs, then if you want to add morphs to the prop later, you can use the original prop to make them from and then reload all the morphs again. It's laborious but it works. IsaacNewton
Yesssss, [light bulb goes on] I think I get it now. Thank you Another one of those dirty tricks, like the wrong defaults for props being preset with the import command. I would like to wack the great toe of whoever selected those defaults with a rubber mallet - pay back for the frustration. Zygote's practice of calling for the prop obj from geometries - I bet using this mesh for morphs gets around the problem? A good reason to use this method? You do not need double copies of the obj - the one for morphs and the one embedded in the PP2.
I guess you're right. I don't know how Zygote does it. (Maybe you can explain, if you have time?) As for lights going on... that's how I work all the time...I stumble about in the dark until I find the light switch. Unfortunately, I don't always like what I see, so I switch it off and go look for another :) IsaacNewton
Traveler has posted the directions on how to do this at least twice that I know of - on the various e-groups. It is not my place to re-post it in public, but hit me with a direct message and will switch over and send you a cut-n-paste direct. To be candid I tried it only once and missed something, and have not taken the time to work it out yet.
-When you have a prop that you want to make a morph for, and you don't have the original .obj file or if the prop has been scaled/positioned after it's import into poser, here is how you create a new base to work from: -Export the prop as an .obj (Leave the default option boxes checked) -Re-import the .obj Uncheck everything on the import options -Reset the materials and maps to the original prop's settings. -Save it as a prop. -Use the exported .obj as the morph base -Apply morphs to the new prop. -Trav

Does anyone know of any free morphs for clothing? I have been trying to use magnets to pull clothes over the body of a morphed posette, but using the mags are a pain. Or, if someone could direct me on how to make morphs for clothing objects, this would be helpful! Thanks
