found this competion in a magazine here this morning, looked at the homepage: http://www.missdigitalworld.com/MDWContest/showpage/16 and thought: not bad, but the work of lot of artists here could easyly compete with the digital girls, i saw there. maybe, the one or the other artist is in the mood of participate. and... with a bit luck, will win !

This "contest" has been talked about for a long, long time. Several threads concerning this matter made the rounds months ago.

Don't know if anyone has actually won anything.

I also recall hearing a rumor that Poser women weren't allowed in the "competition". If "competition" is actually what this is.

I visited the website one time, long ago. Out of idle curiosity. I haven't gone back since.

At this point, I'm beginning to wonder if the whole thing is some kind of scam.

Perhaps someone else knows more about this than I do. And is possessed of a greater interest in the issue.

"The "Miss Digital World" competition lasts from January 22thto November 19th 2004" They don't mention the word "Poser" in the rules, but it's obvious they're looking for a model they can own and distribute, so that means no Poser models based on anything that has already been distributed (V1, V2, V3, Steph, Posette, Dina V., or any of those toon things). So there would be no point in using Poser, since you can't use Poser to create the model, and a Poser-rendered movie would lose, when judged next to a Maya or Lightwave-rendered movie.

Actually - I saw one model with cool coils, and one posette wearing Koz hair, and at least one other V3 out of 14 entries. They seem to focus on commercial renditions of the model and not the model itself on one of the pages in the FAQ. As for poser renders; 3Delight takes Rib-files if you want a better renderer than Poser and its free. Me, I am not so sure Poser has anything to do in that contest. ~S
