Subject: Old poser clothes & characters

I am working on images at the moment that involve fairly densely populated scenes. I am aware of the technique of rendering, using the image as a background, rendering over the top of it and useing it as a backgrund again but as I will be making a series of images from the same scene this will involve biulding the mage up each time. So I am going to try using very low res characters for the background, increasing in detail from P2 to P3 to P4 to the more modern haracters V3 etc as we come into the foreground. Getting to the point, I need clothes that are compatible with the older figures. Is there a site or section that deals specifically with poser 2 or 3 clothing etc. Just started lucking TBH so I am being a little lazy asking this early on but any help would be gratefully recieved :o) MaRv

First go to Free Stuff here and look at the VERY LAST PAGES. You will find P3 items and maybe P2. Second, go to PhilC's site. He has a few Poser 3 items in the Freestuff Archive. Third, there is a member, possibly with a French name, who has been working with the Poser 2 woman and making textures and such. Pretty decent-looking. Someone else will have to help with the name, but you might see what he has been up to as an aid to helping your figures all blend together in style, if not in polygons. Carolly

May be you could use the alpha channel trick ? Render your crowd one person at a time and save in Png format. In your 2D app export the alpha channel as a new B and W image. Back in Poser, use the 1 sided square prop and add the image as a texture and the image exported from the alpha channel as a trans map. Et voila : you have a background character that only takes 1 poly.

Also check out Geralday's site [search for Geralday on the freestuff board] he has a lot of low res clothes, characters and props available.
