I luckily got Mimic for the $129 special.BUT,in order to use it each time you have to put the CD in.What a pain in the ass!I tried to make my own backup copy to use that to put in each time(I feel ALOT safer doing that, being it cost over 130 bucks),and my drive didn't recognize it!What gives? Is there ANY way I can either put it on my hardrive or a copy?Pulling the CD in and out every time is a pain and I worry about the CD getting scratches.Thanks. :)

Is there ANY way Lipps Inc can have me and others REGISTER my copy so I can either A.)Not have to put the Original CD in EACH time or B.)Let me make ONE REGISTERED copy for my OWN use so the Original CD is safe? Thanks.

I know.I got a GREAT Price.I wish we could get a resolution to this problem.

Have you considered making a disk image copy of the CD and leaving it on your desktop? It takes up a lot of memory, but if you have enough it will save you some grief.

What is a disc image of my CD?In order for me to run the program I have to have the original CD in the CD drive, which sucks big time.It is a pain in the ass to do that EVERY time I want to use my Mimic Program I SPENT $$$ on!Why couldn't Lipsinc have a serial number you register online for security?

Hell^Dog ( ) posted Mon, 04 September 2000 at 2:05 PM

Because they think hackers will get the serial and distribuite it for free.. but have bad news for Lipsinc people... hackers ALREADY have the crack for their demo download... now anyone can get it for free... so, people, make a line an wait for ur turn...MIMIC free for everyone!!!! (im just being sarcastic :])

Lip Sync people have stated publicly that if the CD gets damaged through normal wear and tear, they will replace it for free for life. So just take care of the CD. By the way, you can remove it once the program has recognized it, so it doesn't need to sit in there spinning around. I've tried every way I can think of to make a backup copy...it simply can't be done with normal equipment. Mike

Yea but You PAY for the CD if you need a replacement. :)

You only pay for shipping, you don't have to buy the program again. I hope this thread doesn't go on like the last one. Send the program back and tell them you want a refund. I have had Mimic since beta, and I'm happy with it. I'm not worried about making a copy, and I have yet to hear of anyone having a problem with it. At least it's better than a dongle. =) Marque

I Never said I was Unhappy with Mimic itself, just the way you have to put it in each time.I make ALOT of Avis and it is a pain in the butt to pop it in each time.A serial number registration works too.Adobe does it.And I agree,we don't need 3 mile long threads :0)
