Has anyone else purchased or perused the book, "Stop Staring" by Jason Osipa? The book focuses almost entirely on creating, animating, and posing the head. It is broken down in to chapters by face part--even down to separate chapters on the upper and lower eyelids and how they affect the emotional impact of a pose. I'm ignoring the modeling parts since I'm hopeless at it, but the tips on eye posing, easy phonemeless speach animation, etc. will be helpful.

Well face and eye posing is an area a lot of people don't follow through on. Just something simple like pointing the eyes someplace else other then straight ahead helps a great deal. Also breaking up facial symetry is a big jump ahead. Nobody raises both eyebrows or snarls their lips symetrically. Sounds like a real useful book.

I own it, and have found it to be a really great resource. If nothing else, it makes you realize how much emotion is transmitted by the smallest gestures facially. - Spiritual

I've seen that book advertised, but haven't looked at it yet. Another great book that could be very helpful is "The Artist's Complete Guide to Facial Expression" by Gary Faigin.
