Hi! I'm new to 3D Rendering and only have Poser4 and Bryce. I Just burned $300 on Bryce & IMSI Turbocad trying to find a program that will let me design my own props and export them for Poser. The problem is that DXF files from Turbocad don't contain "faceting information" which is, of course(!), onl offered in the "Professional Version" for $2much! And BRYCE DOESN"T EXPORT PROPS!!! Can anybody suggest a simple program that will let me design decent props for Poser4 without busting my account??? PLEASE??? Starlok

If you can export a 3d DXF you can import it into poser and export it as an obj. Then you take it into UVmapper and create the texture info. Or pick up Cinema 4D GO. It is what most of the stuff on poserworld is made with.

Kevin, I Had tried to export DXF from TurboCAD, but Poser gave me a rude message stating that it needed faceting info in the DXF File and IMSI didn't generate it. The Turbocad manual stated that Faceting is only available in the "professional version" and my $99 investment in the retail version was totally wasted. If anyone could tell me of a similarly priced product, (What does Cinema 4D GO cost?) or of a way using Bryce that I'm missing, I'd be very grateful. Thanks! P.S. I also have half of my machine running LINUX(Mandrake) so if anyone knows of a similar product that exports DXF/3DS/OBJ's I could always use Linux for setup and Poser for rendering.

http://www.maxoncomputer.com/ List is $195. There is one on Ebay for $40. Or many copies of Ray Dream for $90.

Also look at http://shop.3d.com/strata/strata3d/info.html This is the free version of Strata 3d. I have been told you will probably need the manual also, but try it and see. I've also been told that some of the features listed are not in the base product, but I have not checked.

To Kevin & Storm, Many Thanks! Now all I have to do is get beyond the Error page when trying to down load Strata & Amapi and I'll let you know how it all comes out! StarlokJFC@Aol.com
