Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 4:55 pm)
Thank you to all the above for your comments. 'SpottedKitty' - Production of this item is not to be construed as condoning any harm whatsoever to Poser characters!. 'Maclean' - Thank you. Without clean models how would we recognise dirty ones? I just went to your artist page etc to see your clean rooms but nothing is posted. 'Compiler' - I don't know who Landru is, perhaps you would please be kind enough to let me know?

Ooopsie, so sorry about it ! Sometimes it is all too easy to think that someone famous in your country is well known the world over, so here is a short resume of Landru's life : (taken from the site listed above). "Henri Landru, Frances infamous "serial killer", family man, philanderer and murderer of ten women and a boy. Landru was a dealer in second hand goods, such as furniture and cars. He also dealt in fraud and was a con-artist, for which he received a few prison sentences. During the time of the first world war he married women, took any of their assets and then killed them. He enticed women with convincing advertisements in newspapers. He received alot of replies, from which he recorded the prospects of the applicant in a notebook. Between April 1915 and January 1919, he gained a vast profit from murdering ten women and taking their finances. Landru operated in many towns but his last muders were made in the country side town of Villa Ermitage at Gambais. At his residence he installed a stove, from which he disposed of his victims. The smoke and smell emitted from the chimney didn't arouse any suspicions. In 1919 a man inquired about a middle-aged widow who had disappeared after a visit to Villa Ermitage with a bearded man. The police made inquiries when there had a similar request about another widow who had disappeared also with a bearded man in the town. The bearded man was an owner of a house in Villa Ermitage (known locally as M.Dupont), but was no longer there, the police took the hunt further. When Landru was apprehended by description, his notebook was found. Among other evidence that was to convict him was a list of the ten missing women, and used train tickets to Villa Ermitage. At Landru's house they sifted the stove which revealed human bone fragments. Landru was tried at the court of Assize of the Seine-et-Oise in November 1921, charged with eleven murders. He was found guilty and guillotined on 25 February 1922. Forty-six years later a newspaper announced his alleged confession. The words, I did it. I burned their bodies in my kitchen oven were found scribbled on the back of a framed drawing which he said to have given to one of his lawyers before execution."'Compiler' - Hey I'm from Jack the Rippers country not France! Thank you for that comprehensive reply. I now know who Landru is. Compared to him the Ripper seems quite tame. Next time my neice calls round I will show her your post and the attached link. She is always reading books about seriel killers. I hope I can resist the temptation of putting a man with a beard next to the cabinet - but somehow I doubt it! Thanks again.
"League of Extraordinary Monsters," eh? Hmm....lessee...didn't Nitche (i know, it's speld wrong) say something like "monsters we are, lest monsters we become?" This is, actually, an interesting idea. Whom would we nominate for the list? Pol Pot of Cambodia? Those who slaughtered thousands of Native Americans by giving them the clothing and blankets of those who had died from measles and influenza? How do we decide what a serial killer or mass murderer is?
I'm afraid we'd have to let country and religious leaders with mass murders and extermination on their records out of this League. They are not that "extraordinary". They even are, unfortunately, quite common. But Jack the ripper and The Boston strangler could probably be members in good standing. (Note for the black humour challenged : this post should be taken with a shovel of salt).
A dirty shovel? Perhaps one that had been used previously by a grave digger? This just keeps getting more interesting every post. I really, REALLY need to find the resources to purchase RDNA's Whitechappel set and figure out how to merge it with either a rubble-strewn area where there had been several row houses torn down and/or an old chapel and graveyard. I can hear them...can you hear them? Children of the night...SHUT UP AND LET ME THINK FOR A BLOODY MOMENT!! ahem We who are about to render, salute you!
'Dizzie' - 'The Cabinet' prop for the 'Room Of Secrets' should be uploaded to the Poser freestuff on, or around, May day (this year). The door and draw will be functional. I'm still optimising the geometry because at the last count the OBJ file was about 9MB. With the texture maps the total MB size would, I feel, be too high for a prop. Trying not to comprimise the design seen above though. Thank you for your interest.
