Subject: Vue bugging out :(

thomllama ( ) posted Wed, 14 April 2004 at 8:11 AM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 10:18 PM

Ok I just got Vue last week... and it's crashed (unexpected Quit) more times in this past week than all my macs have put together since I got OSX! I have tried the whole OpenGL thing.. the System is Brand Spanking new G5 with a gig of ram, with the whole system reinstalled and updated from scratch, and Vue up to date! I have yet to find a "time" or reason for the Quit's.. just seems to do it. I have gone to E-ons site an looked around there and got nothing.. so coming here to see if it's something you people know about? any ideas? Help!!! please!!!

I have no Mac and will not be able to answer this question. You may ask it in the Forum at e-onsoftware (see link above).

It works for me and others too, as there are always new posts. There is not any "redirect" to go there, the link is direct. May be a program inside your computer?

Yup was safari,.. at least that point.... as to uie bugging.. no help there... :( Two thoughs... anyone using dual monitors? also is anyone using a Kensington Turbo Mouse? (trac ball) Those are the only 2 things that are above the norm on my machine... and no I wont disconnect either LOL.... If Vue wont work with them then Vue is GONE!!! not to sound mad.. just frustrated..I had such high hopes for Vue!! (and still do if I can only figure this out) thanks

Ask your question there in the forum (post a new topic) to get an answer from e-on:-)

I use dual monitors with Vue 4 Pro, that shouldn't be the issue, have you tried downloading the latest updates, that solved a lot of my crashing problems with the material editor and other misc editor functions. I've also heard from others that the latest beta (4.53) seems to be fixing a few crashing problems others were having. Hope this helps.

I have a mac G4 500 dual. Ooh I'm so jealous of your G5. Okay, maybe the install went wrong. Reinstall vue, and before you put any updates on it check if it works. Love esther

MY ONLINE COMIC IS NOW LIVE

I aim to update it about once a month.  Oh, and it's free!

I'm using a PC, so I can't say anything about the hardware stuff. But as for the time when it's happening: I find my Vue to be rather stable as long as I don't fiddle too much with stones. Whenever I'm about to insert a stone object, I save my scene before doing so, because moving the stone around quite a few times to get it where it suits the picture (or latest doing this with a handful of stones) Vue will usually crash sooner or later - especially when lifting, moving and dropping them. Just a hint to keep an eye on whether that's the time for you, too...
