Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.
I think it's a problem with RuntimeprefsLibraryPrefs.xml Try making a copy of the above file and put somewhere safe, then delete the original. You should now be able to start Poser 5, but you will need reconnect any extra Runtimes you've added. If you open the copy in Internet Explorer you may get a more helpful error message. You could try going to the Python Scripting Forum and try using the ability to attach a text file to a post, as it may be possible to fix either the file or at least determine the underlying cause of the problem.

I can't open Poser 5 at all. I've had it installed on my computer since last year, but today I suddenly started getting an error message every time I try to open the program. It says "Parse Error: not well formed at line 6." Anyone know what this means? There is an error report (which seems to relate to the Poser exe) that I can post, but I don't really understand what it's saying. Is there something wrong with the execute file, or some other thing elsewhere? Or could something have corrupted a file? Any help welcomed. Thanks
