And the TRUTH is mine,
Lend me your ear,
And I'll waste all your time."*

Actually Caly the quote you have been using is "there is three sides to every story". Oh but wait..I forgot. we haven't spoken at all according to you.

c1rcle,

What can I say?

I'm just a deep kind of a guy. It gets real deep around me.

People tell me that all of the time.

P.S. Thanks.

Re unzipped's philosophy Well, in a perfect world, we'd all be very clinical and consider that payment in cash for goods received is enough and needs no further comment. Why say 'thanks'? I already paid for it, didn't I? But since we're all humans (well.... most of us), we occasionally have these irrational outbursts of feelings. Sorry unzipped, (and Mr Spock, if he's listening). Sometimes the machinery inside me gets overwhelmed by things called 'emotions', not to mention 'common courtesy'. If someone does a good product at a good price, offers me a 30-day money-back guarantee and a weekly freebie..... then throws in free software into the bargain..... well, excuse me if I say 'Thanks'. In fact, sorry for being alive, but you'll just have to deal with it. mac

It is true that customers just want the toys and little else matters. In all fairness there is no reason they should care. However, some of us are not store customers and have been around long enought that other things are important to us. These things are different than what customers care about. You say "most of us" meaning you customers and we say "most of us" meaning we creators and brokers. You can say our agenda is opportunity driven and we can say your agenda is procing and availablility. It really doesn't matter. You want fair pricing and we want fair business practices. You can vent about high proces then we can vent about unfair fixing or marketing thoughts. But just because many are easily satisfied with the new great toy or freebie, there are other things some of us are concerned about that are no less important. Nowhere is it written that the forums are for the store customer's opinions only. At least it never used to be.

Actually Caly the quote you have been using is "there is three sides to every story". Oh but wait..I forgot. we haven't spoken at all according to you. Err. No, that's not what I said. Read the Sword of Truth series. It's also a common phrase, the 3-sided sword. Actually I had no grievances with you until you appeared to be going delusional when it came to my opinions & corrections of your false assumptions in the GIRL thread. And no, we have not had lengthy discussions this past month. All I have is your 1-sided IMS. What did we supposedly discuss, anyways? Wait, don't tell me. I really don't have the time to indulge you.

Jackson, somehow my message didn't come across the way I intended. Let me try again... Yes, DAZ do (usually) deserve thanks for being good to their customers. They produce - and broker - a lot of high quality value for money products. That's why I buy them. They have always been helpful to me, even when I was the one who screwed something up. They're pretty responsive and always polite. My second post was in response to the "DAZ religion" post. Nah, not me. I buy their stuff because it's good and they don't usually screw things up. This still isn't getting my point across. Here's another attempt... If anyone wanted a recommendation for one (and only one) place for Poser stuff, I would recommend DAZ without hesitation. Not just because of the Millennium models, either, because if they were incompetent or hard to deal with I wouldn't buy their stuff at any price.

Some others have a different type of horsey --

It's called a HOBBY HORSE.

And they ride the poor thing to death.

But -- I suppose that we all need our toys to play with.

Understood Sam. Thanks for the clarification. About the person who started this thread...So what if he or she is a clone account? I knew that when he/she appeared in the GIRL thread, but it doesn't make the sentiment any less genuine. Like I said earlier, I thanked DAZ before when they released M3 and I didn't even buy M3 at the time. The reason I thanked them was--at the time--it seemed like people were so quick to jump down DAZ's throat at the slightest mistake no matter what it was. So when the M3 release went so smoothly and I didn't have to read a dozen complaints in this forum, I felt it appropriate to thank them. I still don't get why this is such a big deal to some people. Jeeze, lighten up! Unzipped said: "...misplaced sentiment ...silly thing ...thought processes that could have been used further learning how to do things better with Poser...even if it's just another thread about a new breast morph it would be more worthwhile for the forum. ...this is just noise. ...I will probably occasionally miss out on some useful information as well by avoiding such threads. That's the kind of damage that is done by this stuff. ...If you want to say thanks, great, send them a postcard, give them a call, post on their very own message board... But posting it here a)is a waste of space and energy for Renderosity members and b)smacks unseemingly of astroturfing. ...take this junk offline..." Junk, Noise, Misplaced sentiment, waste of space, DAMAGE?! Man, all this over a simple thank you. I'm sorry but I don't want to send them a post card. I'll post here as long as the mods and TOS allow. Speaking of mods, thank the Lord none of them think like you do.

PheonixRising ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2004 at 4:35 PM

Maybe you can just "clone" the horse. :) Well I said what I wanted to. Off to write tutorials. :)

BingoClowno ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2004 at 4:39 PM

I would "clone" the horse but its now full of hate and rage! It would take over the world! OH MY GOD SAVE US! Man this was just a thank you thread! Imagine if it was serious! B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, and BINGO was his Name O!

BingoClowno ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2004 at 4:48 PM

I might not agree with everything DAZ decides to do, but I still appreciate the extra mile they have gone to ensure customer happiness. Never had problems with them, yet! And I don't HAVE to like everything they do... it's the same in any normal family! Thank you, DAZ!!

Say thanks to ppl that make freestuff, and upload it to internet, and pay for webspace and bandwith and, in most cases, they get nothing back. DAZ is just doing the business with us all...and now they are looking for Kozaburo....

Actually - right. I've never gotten an IM or an email from a member here thanking me for any of my freebies - not even the Vickie UV mapping for the Mayadoll. There was some nice things posted here soon after I released them, though. But I've gotten the most downloads here, and the least feedback. I did get a lot more thanks for them at 3dcommune, Renderotica, and Poser Pros though. ;) Maybe it's a culture thing. Also, DAZ has a freebies archive, and its back online again. I was able to pick up some cool stuff the other day. Thanks DAZ for getting that straightened out. :)

A big thank you to helpful people in the community who give away some of their time to answer other people's questions. A huge thank you to all the people who make freestuff and whose "customer service" is most of the time very much on par with paying companies. A personal thank you for the people I e-mailed at DAZ for their efficient, quick and personalised answers. A personal thank you also for all the independent brokers of Poser items I have bought from on various e-stores : the customer service has always been outstanding. As for DAZ products themselves and the marketting policy, there's no point in saying thank you : either I buy or not, and I didn't buy as much as I could lately. However, during the last few days, I have come to wonder wether DAZ was getting into the laundry business... I hope not, because this is a thing I'm not interested in. Mmm. Back to work/play on Poser now.

'and now they are looking for Kozaburo.... ' Couldn't you find any better disinformation than that one? You must be desperate, man. mac

Oh, wait! I get it now! It's the weekend, and DAZ will be closed soon. That's right, it's time for another conspiracy theory! Let's raise a few protests while they are closed for the weekend. This is getting real old, real fast.

With awesome products from DAZ, Poser is an ever-expanding program with endless possibilities. Now when I need a particular scene or character- that option is only a search click away and usually is offered at an affordable price. Way to go DAZ- you truly have a top notch, customer friendly, and killer squad running operations. Mike
