Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
Thanks xantor. :) I did send an email to the creator (haven't heard anything back yet), but thought I'd check here as well to get some feedback from anyone who might be using her in ProPack.

I looked at some of the images of this character in the merchant's gallery. According to his comments, the skin texture is specifically designed for rendering in P5. Nodes, etc. If he's actually set up the MAT files for P5 only, I'm not sure how well they would work in P4, or how it would look. Maybe someone who has bought the character can post a P4 render? Heck, I might. I really like ADP's work, and this character looks amazing.I would suspect that all the ornaments on the bracelets and so on is also made with Displacement maps, another P5-only thing. But the character itself should work. I'm more interested in why Rosity apparently won't broker this.. I've NEVER heard that they have turned anything down other than if it had flaws and errors... I've had 3 things turned down here over time, all becourse they had some problems ( and they have a sorta 3 strikes and you're out - policy for fixes, one of them didn't make it in 3 attempts, the other two.. well I didn't want to bother, so I fixed it and sold them elsewhere.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
I thought that was odd, too. Rosity is selling several popular characters that don't use the DAZ morphs. Penny Dreadful. ADP's own "Just An Unbelievable Body." I wonder if the MAT files really only work for P5. You know how it is; even if it's labelled "For P5 only," some P4 users will buy it. And if it doesn't work, they'll be annoyed. Maybe Rosity didn't want that hassle.
I'm not so sure about that. The morphs should work, but to me, the skin textures look like they've been done with P5 skin shader nodes. If so, they won't look very good in PP/P4. The texture is plugged into the Alternative Diffuse node, not the Diffuse Color node. So rendered in P4, you won't see any color or texture at all.
Thank you for all the feedback guys! I got an email, and this is what he said: {{DANA (solo) can be used with P4, but has not the same highlight, bumpmap and reflections. If you load it with P4 you Poser will give you a warning and converts anything for P4 use. After saving the character in your folder, the warnings are not shown up while loading again. If you ae familar with setting the right parameters and light, DANA can look great even with P4.}} I'll wait a little longer, and hopefully someone who is using her in ProPack will see this post. :) But if not, I think I may just go ahead and buy her anyway. At that price, even if only the character works, it will be worth the money. Although it would be nice if the outfit worked as well! It's just gorgeous. Especially that headdress! Thanks again everyone! I appreciate your help! :)

Does anyone know if DANA (see attached link) will work in ProPack? It says she is for use in Poser5, but I'm hoping that she will also work in ProPack, since I am *really* interested in buying her, and ProPack is what I use. *crosses fingers* :) Thanks! Ney"You don't know what we can see
