Subject: Backing up runtime for reinstall

Hi Ive been using poser so long I should know this but Ive not done it before so I thought Id make sure. Im going to rebuild update and reinstall my pc. If I copy my runtime directory to a DVD (just about get it on) will it work when I reinstall poser if I just replace the newly installed runtime with the backed up one? Or will poser not like it. I hope I can because the thought of reinstalling everything separately is a nightmare. Cheers

It will work.... as long as you don't include any of the old apps files. I ended up not using the entire backup runtime folder, so I just drag and drop the folders I needed.

Yes you can just replace the newly installed runtime with the backed up one.

Also, you might have a runtime bigger than 4,5 gig. If so, compress it with zip and you will have a nice 50% reduced runtime ready to burn on a DVD (It will take a while);)
