Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
Probably because DAZ is now selling Injection Magic? Which, by the way, is very useful if you're making custom morphs but IPB is great for those quick INJ poses as it can also read face files instead of having to open the entire cr2. I use both and would also like to see an update for IPB but I think Rob may be busy on DAZ Studio.
What M3 problem? I use IPB with M3 but I wasn't aware of a problem...

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Really? How can you check for that?

Much as I like the prog, I am getting increasingly f*cked off with an annoying characteristic it displays. For some reason it does not select Pubic Hair by default. Even if the character has this set to 1 IM unchecks the option. I check it manually, which forces it to save the MOR aspect, but will it buggery load the trans or change the colour. I have to hand edit the resultant file to make the damn thing work properly. Anyone else experienced this and if so, is there a way around it, other than editing the file?
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
I bought both and tried to create custom morphs first with Injection Magic. It recreated ChanVis & Deltas with new names. I can't create morphs to sell that way! So I went to Injection Pose builder - I was trying to create Morphs for M3. The problem, even with the update, is that even though I select M3, I have to copy the entire thing and replace the references to Victoria 3 still. And some of the M3 morphs it does not recognise so I have to manually add them in - like Muscular 3. Oh well, It is a base yo start with though pretty annoying. Personal opinion is Injection Magic is very useful but I would use it for personal use of for parts which I cut and paste to an Injection Pose Builder generated and modified file. Lots of work but seriousl, without both programs, it would be worse :-P
REally? Were you trying to create just the custom morphs, or were there DAZ morphs involved as well? I have to agree that for DAZ morphs, the IPB is MUCH easier, but you can't build custom morph INJs with IPB. Injection Magic cannot create channels. They must exist in the cr2 to begin with. For Custom morphs, there has to be a channel available for the morph to go into. If not, then it won't work. You can choose where the morph will go; either in a community slot, or it can kidnap an existing morph slot. If you let IM go auto, it will just kidnap slots, so it's better to choose them manually. Just pick one for each morph. Keep it the same channel # for each body part whenever possible. If you need help with it, DW has been very good about customer service, but I've got a fair handle on it as well if you need anything. I imagine that for a mixture of DAZ and custom morphs, that creating 2 seperate character INJs would make things easier. If you develop them on a Blank, then you shouldn't have a problem with them overriding eachother.
Injection Magic is great for Cutom morphs though I have not used it for that nor for a combination of custom and Daz morphs but from the first time I used Injection Magic, It created newly named morphs of the Daz morphs which was rather irritating. but I think it would be useful for other things that IPB cannot do. I used Pozers Little helper beta for a Custom Morph I did a couple of months back. However, there was a minor thing I needed to manually correct to get it to work.
I've avoided the whole injection thing all together, because every program sees to have problems, and the majority of the characters out there don't have a blank channel, so the injections will work. Now if there was a builder that DID add the blank channels, and then would also add the morphs easily from a copy of the original cr2 with the additional morphs, THAT would be useful.
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
IPB has been alomost completely re-built. It has been a while, thats for sure... but as Kalypso suggested, I've been rather busy with another project with higher priority, so work on IPB has been done in my 'off' time, when I can find time on weekends; when I'm not working on something else. The 1.5 update includes the ability to create your own libraries, so you can support any figure you care to build a library for and define any morphs you so choose. A few more options have been added, the interface has changed to better accommodate the added functionality, and hooks have been put in to accommodate a module I'm currently working on... but, more on that later. Prior to the rebuild, this would have been a real pain to pull off. IPB was initially written procedurally because all I ever meant for it to be was a simple utility for in-house production and it was simpler/quicker to write it that way... But in letting it leave the confines of the office, I soon found out how time consuming it would be to support the way things appeared to be headed. I added support for Michael and Freak the 'old' way, simply because I didn't have the time for a re-write during that time. Anyway, just after starting the update to support Stephanie (which would have been 1.4), I decided that it wasn't worth continuing down the same path only to be met with the same headache later... so I began rebuilding it instead. Yes, it has taken longer than it would of if I just added support for Stephanie... but if you look at it from my perspective, I didn't just add support for Stephanie, I added support for any figure anyone cares to build a library for. Either way, it is currently being pushed on to make sure I haven't missed something, then it'll be posted on the product page. -Rob

Why hasn't there been an update to the Injection Pose Builder for SP3 and a fix to the M3 problem??? It is such a great and useful utility, I just wish I could use it properly with AL characters - not just V3! rant over, back to fixing files manually
