Hi I'm new to this forum and wanted to get some feedback on Vue d'Esprit/Mover5. I'm playing with the demo at present and it seems it's what I'm looking for, which is the ability to make scenes/animation incorporating Poser 5 characters. Anyone have any comments/suggestions? Is it a stable program and worth the money? I'm running XP Home. My target audience are children with disabilities so none of the naked Vicky's in castles will be used. However, can Vue use the Mill Kids and other DAZ stuff? Thanks for your time, Indoda

Well the Mill kids and Daz stuff are for Poser 4, and Poser 4 .pz3 files import into Vue 4 & Vue Professional, so yes is the simple answer. Vue 4 is a stable program and I feel it is worth the money. Vue Pro has had some stablity issues, due to its newness, but as to VFM, I'll leave others to say (I don't have it) Oh, and welcome to the forum!

As you could imagine this was discussed before - therefore we have established here "The Backroom". Maybe you go there and investigate a little. I enclose the link to it, but you can find it when you look a little up (on your screen) as well. Especially the parts related to video cards as well. An issue because there can be some problems with OpenGL and specific video cards.

Vue is just great... Rendering is sometimes a little bit slow and I still miss a modeler, but its probably one of the best landscape generators... I use it for nearly everything, poser import is just great, poser animations work very good with mover... Get it, its much too cheap for what its capable...

Vue and Poser make for a good "marriage". With Vue's ability to import dynamic cloth and dynamic hair, and in my opinion, a better renderer, I feel it was a sound purchase. Sure, one may have to use some work-arounds now and then, but all in all, I am well satisfied with its capabilities.

Its the little things that make Vue bad. Poser materials import bad. There is no support for displacement maps, bump maps don't look right, and matte/shadows don't work. No particle systems in Vue and a bad plant editor. Otherwise its almost worth its weight in salt.

Good god the Troll prison must have it's door wide open lately. -- I've been using Vue for a few months now. I like it quite a bit. It has one of the easiest interfaces around... and a easily comprihended material system. It has quirks, but so does every 3d program I have ever used. The only really bad annoyance I've had is... there is a bug that makes invisible objects show up as ghosts in bright volumetric light. Not great for me since my current animation deals with UFOs -- Otherwise it's sweet and I am using Vue for 90% of the outdoor renders in my animation (most indoor shots will be Poser 5 or Truespace renders)

Vue4 is great for straightforward scenes; but as for animation, Pro is good for beginner to low intermediate. To really reach toward its optimistic 'Pro' appellation, it needs to do better than poseur and import Kaydara's .fbx ..jmo of course :)

Blurs are terrible in Vue4!

Blurs are terrible only if you don't have the patience to wait for the picture to render in high quality. High quality comes at the cost of long rendering time regardless of any 3D software.
