Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:57 am)
The angelina jolie was made with morphs, partially done in another program, it was also done with a model that "from birth" contains more, and better morphs.
The P5 people are the only ones that work in the Face room. Unfortunately they do no contain enough morphs initially to get any good result. There has just been released a new morph pack for Judy (called Morfin' Mindy) here in the MP, which greatly enhances Judy's morph capabilities. With Morph Manager (from Free stuff here) you can transfer the morphs to Don if you're in need of a male character.
Mostly, making "stars" and celebrities is a question of skill - and luck. Sometimes you dial and WHAM! someone you "know" emerges. Other times you can dial till your mouse finger goes into a cramp and still not get anything but laughable results. At least that's my expirience.
Hope that clarifies things a little :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Oh if it were only that easy. The truth of the matter is that, like the Angelina Jolie and my own T'Pol character, you have to morph your figure and then texture your figure using the standard methods. I have never seen anything produced in the face room that looks remotely like the character. Some people may disagree... i Say show me... prove me wrong.

Mike 2 and a lot of dial twisting. I worked without a texture to ensure I got the likeness.Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.

A lot of people use FaceGen Photofit for making digital clones from photos, then just "frankenstein" the head to a poser figure. I've tried this application, and if you have decent reference images, you'll get some incredible likenesses. The downfall?... I don't think the Photofit portion of the software works in demo mode, so you might not get a chance to "try" it out first. See link attached to this message for their website.Tools : 3dsmax 2015, Daz Studio 4.6, PoserPro 2012, Blender

"A lot of people use FaceGen Photofit for making digital clones from photos, then just "frankenstein" the head to a poser figure." As far as I know, CeeBee and myself are the only ones doing that, or at least who have posted the results. RR, theres good news and theres bad news. The good news is digital cloning CAN be done. The bad news is, its not cheap or easy. There are a lot of different ways to do it, and each individual artist finds their own method. Of course, the results vary from breathtaking to laughable. I don't know how skilled you are with 3d modelling and texturing, but I will say this much; when you're trying to recreate somebody's face, the mesh must conform to the texture and not the other way around. Generally in poser we take source photos (like a celeb pic) and cut/paste/transform/blend them onto the uv template. This can create excellent photorealistic textures but the end result bears very little resemblance to the actual person being cloned. In other words, the mesh must be built to the specifications of the texture, you can't just slap somebody's face on a poser figure and say "gee, that sure looks like so and so." If you're serious about being able to do this, join the yahoo group I have linked here, I co-mod it with CeeBee and it is dedicated to this discussion.Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1720105

I think that's the only P5 celebrity attempt I've seen so far....This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible. I tried to make Chad Kroeger from Nickelback or Katie Holmes with the Poser 5 face editor...first: it looks totally stupid....second: you need the side view, which is not often to get. So i wanna know what programm do you use to make stars...like i saw here (angelina jolie) or else... perhaps you could mail me a description how its done with some pics...if possible. mail to buchi316@gmx.de if you cant thx anyway greets Robert Ripley Believe it or not!
