ALL .... hello .... joined Renderosity about two months ago .... write alot .... do some photo work .... looking to get much better .... lots of 'amazing' photos I see here by some wonderfully talented peoples .... Is there a 'place' to post photos only? .... (with 'no' postwork of any kind done?) or are all lumped together here? .... am I to list what camera, lenses, etc., I have taken any pic with? .... and, am I to list 'if' any postwork is done on any given photo? .... thanks, kindly for your help ahead of time .... MUCH APPRECIATED .... RR69 .... brian.

Is there a 'place' to post photos only? No ... just the topic "Photography" ... as you have been doing. OTOH, Michelle and Misha could decide that a Monthly Challenge was "No Postwork". Hmmmmm ... would that mean not even cropping? Ouch, that could be a challenge. BTW, were you going to enter something for the April challenge: "The Secret Revealed"? -- look at each message with 'secret' in the subject and submit your own before the month is over. > am I to list what camera, lenses, etc., I have taken any > pic with? ... and, am I to list 'if' any postwork is done > on any given photo? ... Issues such as the amount of postwork can be mentioned in the notes for the image. Exposure data could also be included ... it's good to know what the shutter speed was when there is movement involved (sports, waterfalls, ...) -- that way, we may be able to recreate an effect on our subjects based on another's experience. OTOH, as I write this, I am realizing that my uploads don't always include exposure data in that detail ... LOL. That must be the purpose of the "Edit" link. MGD

The intent of the Photography Gallery [http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?Sectionid=8] is to be "mostly" pure Photography; heavily manipulated stuff will get a better audience in the 2D or Mixed Media Galleries. That being said, we tend to be pretty informal here. What is "manipulation" anyway? We encourage learning and sharing of ideas, so any notations on equipment, exposure, techniques, etc., is welcome, but not essential. Your choice. There is a tendency for the Gallery to be a "showplace," while more in-depth discussions and questions are handled in the Forum. Critical reviews are easiest obtained by asking for them in the Forum, with some specifics about what the image is trying to say; not just, "What do you think of this one?" BTW, welcome to the Forum.

ALL .... Thanks, kindly for all your help and information .... IMHO, I think Misha883's explanation seems more 'logical'? .... I see some 'magnificent' photos here, but it appears some have spent some considerable time/work in 'postwork'? .... I have not yet learned how to do 'photoshop' or 'paint shop pro', etc., to 'enhance' images taken by my 35mm camera .... I cannot wait to learn how to do such .... I also, eventually would love to learn how to do rendering as I've seen at Renderosity .... simply astounding works .... but all 'pc' generated ....I also am a 'dinosaur' as I use an old pentax k1000 about 25 years old .... I know, at some time, 'digital' is the future .... but .... lol .... thanks, again, for all the warm 'welcomes' ....I hope to check out more 'photo' member's pics/works here .... I have the 'luxury' of a 'dial up' system @ a 'whopping' 21.6 kbps! .... I look at 'one' uploaded pic here in about 3-4 minutes .... fast, huh? .... brian.

welcome.in the old darkroom the artists postworked a lot and in the new darkroom the artists postworks also a lot, where is the different ? where is the point to stop manipulation ? let`s art flow like it flows, my friend.you can do both, with and without postwork. !!!!!!!!! #:O) !!!!!!!!!

Hi there and welcome - There are some of us that prefer the "old dinosaurs" over the digital. ;)
