Subject: Odd Creature...

This guy was hanging on the wall on the way into the local mall today. Just had to grab a shot of him. I know its a moth and I know that it was huge! This thing is like 6 inches (150cm) across. Nd if you notice, he needs a shave too, damn hairy! Magick Michael

That would be a Luna Moth! They are gorgeous! I have a few shots in my gallery of one that happened to be taking a nap on my front steps one day....

How unusual....the back makes it look as if it is crossing it's Legs...wanting to go to the Toilet :]

EEEk ! I think it looks more like its walking a tight rope. Imagine that Beast flapping about in your beer!!!

zhouder, this looks like the one in my gallery but not so weather worn! A few week later we let the little caterpillars from hatched eggs go but can't find any today. These lovely moths do not eat, live for a week, mate for 4 hours. That is their life. Beautiful creature. God Bless. TomDart.

Yup - I stopped at a gas station near the coast once - and there were dozens of these clinging to the punps and building wall (I guess the light..???) Nice clean specimen!
