Subject: "Bell Bottoms" for V3 Catsuit and M2 Bodysuit

ghoyle1 ( ) posted Sun, 02 May 2004 at 10:25 PM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 5:49 PM

I'm looking for some way to achieve a slight bellbottom effect for the V3 Catsuit or M2 Bodysuit (heck, for any of the models, too!). Is there an existing product that has this effect applied? I'm very poor with magnets, but I tried myself, with hideous results. This ties in with my previous question about the Star Trek TNG weapons; I'm working on some Star Trek images using Trekkiegrrrl's TNG uniform textures. Thanks in advance, Guy

You CAN try a Taper on the shins but I'm not sure if it'll work. Magnets are probably the best shot, but I'll be the first to admit that they're not easy to master. If you can wait, I can try to do it when I get home today? You're right it would greatly enhance the trek look :o) ~TrekkieGrrrl

I tried tapering the shins, which is OK, but the calves begin to bulge a bit too much. I can definitely wait; I'll have to "get up" in a couple of hours to go to work (having an insomnia attack right now). Thanks! Guy

I'm presenly being driven mad trying to get to grips with magnets. It looks so simple but when you try deforming a complex object it can tun into a real nightmare. If you're going to create magnets for this ernyoka I'd be most interested myself. 8) Catlin

Right.. Tried with magnets but gave it up. It's doable but easier in Max. My problem is now that I'm not sure how I can redistribure the morphs. They're only the shin parts of the catsuit, as obj's so it's not like I'm distributing the whole suit or anything. Actually those 2 pieces are rather useless IMO without the rest of the catsuit, but I'm still not sure if I'm allowed to distribute them? If not, I'll probably have to see f I can figure out how to use RTE encoder

You need to "squish" the morph - I'm pretty sure there have been instructions recently - as I recall you delete everything but the v lines.

Hey, you said the magic word :) PWizard has a built in obj squisher :o) I've never actually tried it but I will now, or rather as soon as I've made the morphs for the M2 catsuit too

I hate to be a beggar, but would it be possible for you to perform your magic on the M3 bodysuit, too? And, oh, any chance to do the trick for the sleeves as well? I'm just imagining all the possibilites that could come from that... ::offering m&m's and a banana split with everything:: :)

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 1:35 PM

Ooooooh bananasplit!! You got a deal LOL Ive never been able to say no to a bananasplit The zip has now been updated. Same URL and all, just more content in the zip. It now contains morphs for both arms and legs, and for M3's bodysuit as well as V3's and M2's. I'll do the Freak's Bodysuit too soon, I just have some otherthings I got to finish first :o) Have fun! And please see the enclosed ReadMe.
