Subject: Cant get downloaded items to work in poser 5

Help please. I am new to all of this. I have poser 5 and Ive purchased both M3 and V3 which seem to work ok but all my other downloads will not appear in the pallets. I unzipped them into the runtime folder but Im lost from there. Any help would be appreciated.

It depends what you're installing. The attached link shows what should go where. Not everything you download will put things in the correct folders. For example, characters (*.cr2) have to be under Runtimelibrariescharacter. Some zips put everything in the right place when you unzip them to your Poser directory. Others start a new Poser directory. Others put them in a new directory structure starting with the name of the item being unzipped. If you've unzipped to the Runtime directory, you might notice a new Runtime directory underneath that has all your items. You'll have to manually move stuff to the right directories to get Poser to see them. It takes a little while to get the hang of everything and knowing what goes where, but it eventually becomes second nature.

It's always best to unzip stuff into a temporary directory you use just for that item. Look over your stuff and see if anything needs to be moved. You can then drag and drop onto your Poser installation. There are other methods, but this is a good place to start.
