Still haven't gotten into these, but wanted to check out the 1st and 2nd setup shots. Don't think the 1st setup worked as well as the 2nd and 3rd (lace shot is from 3rd setup). Will have to see. Anyway, while waiting for eBay auction to end I snagged a random one from the 2nd setup. A little more post than the 1st one (which had none except for slight tone). Playing with the curves to see what I like. Will be doing some dodging and burning on these to tame the light down a little on arms and hands. But I think there are going to be some good ones from this set too. -=>Donald

A nosey little someone asked how I set up the lights for these, so I thought I'd just post response here in case anyone else wondered. Lights: Speedotron 2403 Blackline pack (2400WS) with three 102 2400WS heads (I have yet to go beyond using 800WS during any session). Also have available 3 each of: softboxes, umbrellas, grids and bunch of different reflectors, snoots, etc. I'm really proud of myself for not just throwing a bunch of stuff on the heads 'cause it's there and using only what I need. This set up: Single head (800WS) mounted above model on boom(about 8-9ft up and slightly to camera left) with reflector, grid and barndoors (grid to diffuse light a little for a softer shadow edge and barn doors to give better control of where the light fell). Wanted fast shutter speed with small aperture (think around 1/160th at f/22 or something like that). The setup from the other image: Two heads - key light 800WS mounted above model on boom(about 10-12ft) with softbox and 400WS background light with softbox (so that the light spread out and didn't give me a bright spot (not a lot of room on that side to move the light back further from the background). Metered for f/11. Wanted a good DOF so that I could get sharpness from lace to model. Anything I would have done different? On this setup, moved the light another 2 feet or so higher. The lace one, nope...really liked how that worked out.
