Well, I just broke down and bought Poser 5....downloading it as we speak. I'm telling you, though, I'm totally intimidated by this node stuff...any good tutorials on how to use them? (paging Dr. Geep..);-)

Go to Crescent's site. There are some P5 specific tutorials there.

Don't be. Once you get the hang of them you'll be laughing at the P4 system. They are so damn flexible and powerful that you can set up and texture an object with almost all procedurals. You can also use it for all sorts of multi layer blending effects and adding decals, logos, tattoos etc.

Also, search for Ajax in this forum. He posted some shader stuff here, too. There's a slime shader and a Predator style "stealth" shader.

RDNA's Poser 5 forum has an ongoing tutorial (slightly delayed, but starting up again) that's an open style one, allowing everyone to put in their two cents about various things. It does assume you have at least a starting knoweldge of the Material room, but, to be blunt, Geep's Tute does the best job of giving you that starting knowledge I've seen so far.

Hey, has anyone heard anymore about how Geep is doing? There was a thread about a month ago that he'd had a very bad heart-attack, and had a bypass, but unfortunately he doesn't have any health insurance. If anyone can IM me his current status I'd appreciate it.
