Subject: Free SWAT Vest?

This is probably a dumb question and or not in the right place of the forums, but i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find a free SWAT vest for a male character? i only see one bullet proof type vest in the renderosity free section but it's meant for a woman character. basically i'm looking for a free clothing prop for a male, that resembles any sort of tactical military/swat vest. if anyone can help by a link, or perhaps if someone could whip up a free vest like i mentioned, please reply, thanks a bunch folks. :)

I think all the male stuff is for sale, the BVH SWAT for vicky is the free item I assume you are referring to. Are you looking for a model that can be textured or the whole shebang? I might be able to come up with some sort of tactical vest, would be good to get away from modeling guns for a while as well. Textures on the other hand are not my strong suit, but I can try

One more thing, is this thing intended to work with Mike or some other character? If mike, what version? I just finished all of MarkDC's making poser clothing in 3DSMAX tutorials and I am itching to try out what I learned.

More questions, I have the modeling started but I need to know if you are looking for a tactial vest or body armor. The tactical would be the outer shell with all the pockets and such. Some of them can contain ceramic plates but most are there for storage and used in conjunction with body armor underneath. Most have ammo pouches, some contain holsters for sidearms, and depending on the intended user some even have pouches that allow easy access to frag and flashbang grenades. The body armor itself would be cake. The only problem might come in getting it to fit over various clothing items. I am building it with only mike as a reference, so it might need to be scaled once I get it into poser.

This is a rough render of what I have so far.

That's looking good so far, and thank you for trying to help me out here, now to answer your questions. i would use this clothing item for Mike 2. and i'm looking for more of a tactical vest rather than the body armor, a vest as you mentioned with all the pockets, straps holsters, or whatever. if you can, a texture would be nice, but not needed i improvize many props with simple textures like a black cloth texture etc. and that i can do myself, however if you do not texture it, if you could provide a basic mesh image as a texture seem guide that would be great aswell. anyways keep up the good work. and thank you for deciding to help me out. repost here if you'd like i check my email often se we can keep in contact through this message board. :)

ok if you just want a vest that is going to be a bit harder but can be done. Let me see what I can do as generally the pockets are the hangup.

After some help on the forums here and at 3D Buzz I got the pockets to look right. Let me know what you think before I go through the trouble of assigning things to zones.

i think that looks great, one nitpick i have though is the chest is a bit bare, maybe a few thick pockets up there for good measure would make it more attractive, but that's not necessary, as it is good the way it is and i can see this being a very handy prop. keep up the good work :)

I am going to add some raised panels along the chest, it should give it a more realistic look. They won't really stick out but will give it a bit more texture. Some good texture work will go a long way as well. If you are interested in something 10 times better than this check out Billy-T's SWAT. Do a search for LAPD in the marketplace and you should find it.
