When I load any object into poser (4.0.3), it work fine, but have problem when the object was loaded next time, it pop out a message.."can't find obj file in Geometries folder" and I end up have to go the the "Geometries" folder to delete the *.rsr ,then the obj can be loaded again. what is wrong here, any one knows. P.S. I notice that each time when obj file was loaded from Geometries folder, it auto add a *.rsr file inside the folder. and that cause the problem for later on . then I have to delete the *.rsr file after use it.

You can't help that, Poser will always generate a new .rsr folder if there is not one there for it to gather information. You probably have a corrupt rsr, delete it and then try again, then close your application after it goes into your scene, then open poser and see if you can access it again with the new .rsr that Poser generated for it. thank for clear that up, and Yes, I did that each time by deleting the rsr file, but the problem is that I have to delete the rsr EVERY time when I open any boject that I have used last time ...in other words,every time when I finish anything with poser , I have to go to the Geometries folder do clean up that'cause me lots pain :-(

Opening the OBJ in UVMapper and then saving it right back can sometime stop this from happening. When saving the only 2 things that you need to have check are "Export UV Coordinates" and "Export Materials" Chris Cox

After you've fixed the corrupted rsr you can mark it as a read-only file in Windows Explorer and that should take care of it.

I think all Poser 4 users have experienced a corrupt rsr from time to time, but if this is hapening all the time with any obj/rsr then you have a serious problem.

I would sugest you try an "over the top" reinstall of Poser, that is to say reinstall Poser without uninstalling it. This will overwrite the critical Poser files. Reinstalling won't delete anything from the library, but it will rewrite any poser content you have modified.

If that does not solve the problem then the only other thing I can sugest is to contact Curious Labs tech support.

Do you quit Poser after receiving that message? Do you quit Poser after deleting the rsr file? Are you loading a pz3 file? It could be that your project itself may be corrupted. That's one good argument to "save early, save often."

When you've experienced this RSR corruption, delete it first as you know only too well how to do. :( Then, in a new Poser document, open just the item that was causing the trouble. Let it regenerate the RSR, then write protect it. If that then continues to work, fine; if not, it's time to try the reinstall and/or tech support as Les says. As Bobbie is suggesting, if your project is damaged in some way, it will continually corrupt the RSR every time you open it.

Thanks for the correction. I thought Mackintosh was a type of raincoat ;)
