THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Not gonna post this in the gallery.

I was gonna post this in the gallery, but I'n not, cause it goes against the tradition (importing non bryce/non modeled by me stuff)

But I still think it's pretty cool. So this is an unofficial gallery post.

It's for the Fanfilm "Revelations". (http://www.panicstruckpro.com/revelations/)
They're still looking for more help, if anyone's interested.

So yeah. (oh, you should see it move!!! Mwhaha!)

Too bad you're not going to post it, I would like to have seen it. :^)

So...why not...call it mixed medium.Whatever.But I think it is too good to leave out of the gallery.

You're nuts. If it wasn't any good, Id understand. But its very good!

Ang25 ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 6:38 AM

So this is a photograph from some secret military base right. Damn this is good CG. Add it to your gallery for petes sake, and yeah if its not Bryce enough for you, put it in mixed media. just my 2 cents.

Incarnadine ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 8:05 AM

I am not the biggest Star Wars fan, but I know great work when I see it and this should be posted!

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

ddruckenmiller ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 8:32 AM

I'd really like to see you post it, but if you aren't going to... get it somewhere where I can FTP it down and I'LL put it up!!! (full disclosure and crediting of course)

ddruckenmiller ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 8:46 AM

Trailer looks pretty interesting too... (Is this actually sanctioned by Lucas Films Ltd. or the byproduct of roleplaying fanz gone wild?) Are the guys on the credits R'osity members - cuz I'd love to see more of this - especially scene and effect deconstruction.

file_109408.JPG

Hmmm... Maybe we'd have to put it up under LightWave?

Mrdodobird ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 10:45 AM

Lol. Actually, yes. one of the dudes is here at renderosity. Send em an email if you like it! (everyone likes fanmail). The dude who's hear is Kromekat. (check out my artist's page, there's a link to his stuff under favorite artists. I know! Isn't that picture great!!! (the one right above this post, I'm not trying to glorify mine). I actually had it as my wallpaper for about a week. Just nicely lit. As far as not posting it, I never even really conisdered it. I've told too many people that all the stuff in my images is made by me only in bryce, and it might mess em up (for an example/self promotion of something pretty cool... http://www.rdimages.com/guest/index.html Hehe.) Glad you enjoyed the image! Yup. Just a lot of crazy fans gone wild.

ddruckenmiller ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 11:03 AM · edited Sat, 15 May 2004 at 11:06 AM

'Fanz gone wild'... LOL! That Corellian rave looks like it could have easily gotten out of hand!

I found some of the behind the scene's stuff on the site too - was it all shot in Virginia? And who bankrolled this? I can't believe that a 'vulture' capitalist propped it up...

Whoa! Yea! Kromekat/Adam Benton has got some sweet C4D going on in his gallery - and from the looks of the comments some of the Brycers are already pretty aware of his work. Thanks for the tip-off. 8)

Everyone should download the Revelations trailer. It's the best thing on the net and certainly the best fan film (even though I've only seen the trailer) ever made.
Can't wait for the film. I'd love to help, but don't have the time or the skill. The Corvus rivals the Falcon for cool ship too. Kromekat has been in my faves for a while. AND MrD, stop being a muppet and post that bloody picture to your gallery so all can see it. ;-)

Yeah, I watched the Revelations films a couple months ago, some COOL stuff being put together there! Ian, LOVE that round portal-door-thing in your render! As ALWAY, great industrial modeling... AgentSmith

Stop bein a muppet? WHaaa??? I already posted one today. Can't. Sorry.

danamo ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 9:18 PM

So post your pic already Mrdodobird! I agree with the others, this is too good not to post! So you didn't do all the modeling, just getting such a great base render from Bryce will certainly open some eyes! Just post a disclaimer, and a plug for the fan film, you'll quickly hit the Hot20 yet again, and everyone will be happy.

Mrdodobird ( ) posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 9:23 PM

Okay, Sure. You win. It shall be posted tomorrow. hehe.

That's one heck of a fan film preview trailer. The action sequence parts rocked. (I liked the "new" shuttle and transport? spaceships.) Dunno about some of the acting though (lol) and it's completely missing direct involvement with the funky alien characters that are a key part of the StarWars Universe.

*Clint Eastwood Voice* Post... the... damn... picture...Ian!... ;) Seriously, your dedication to Bryce purity is admirable, but it's (or should be!) about the finished picture/movie IMO - it is a great picture, and it deserves to be seen by the masses, and since you are; a)known best as a Bryce artist, b)Made 99% of this pic in Bryce anyway, and c)It's a great picture!... I am sure you'll be forgiven! ;) *start up the violins here* Many eons ago (circa.2000) I started in Bryce, and I was importing meshes and Poser figures to create scenes, and along with my good pal Curio in 2001, started a shared gallery of work which was our own original take on the events following Star Wars Episode VI - We posted in the Bryce gallery primarily, since the entire sets, scenes and renders were done there, but again, they were full of imported SW meshes and Poser figures! - they had to be really, there was no point re-inventing the wheel! *here endeth the lecture* A couple of examples I did: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=72331 http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=73491 and the entire story (as far as we got anyway) can be seen on the main link! - looks a little rough to me now, but hey 3 years ago is a long time in CG!

ddruckenmiller: "Is this actually sanctioned by Lucas Films Ltd." Lucas and Co. have no problems with fanfilms as long as they don't start earning money out of it. There are even SW fanfilm awards presented by George himself every year, but it's mainly for the parody stuff. We know that Lucas is aware of this one though, I have a feeling he has probably seen the trailer by now - we certainly know that some of the guys at ILM definitely have, and are looking forward to seeing the final! :) drawbridge: "The Corvus rivals the Falcon for cool ship too" That made my day :D - Thanks!

While we're on a Star Wars theme, anyone downloaded the Ryan vs Dorkman fan movie? Best lightsaber battle you will ever see, and I'm counting ALL the movies! OK, one of the best lighsaber battles.

"we certainly know that some of the guys at ILM definitely have, and are looking forward to seeing the final!" As if that isn't kudos enough in it's own right. This is great work. My favourite fan films are probably those from Dude Studios, they rock, but they're a bit of a different style :)

I dunno..one of my favorite light saber moments was the animated Jay vs. Silent Bob..;) there was a special on TV (remember that? the other screen we sometimes stare at during renders?..;) on Star Wars fan films..George's favorite was some little girl singing about all the tie-ins..sigh..:|
