My husband just called and asked me if I want to go for a week in October, but I don't know anything about it. He has been asked to speak there but it will only be for one day and the rest of the week is ours. Anyone know of any good links for info and pics? I tried google but all I get are companies that want to sell tickets or tours. I know folks from all over the world come in here which is why I'm asking here. Thanks, Marque

Take a truck stuffed with CASH! Switzerland is the most expensive country in Europe. Its also one of the friendliest and most beautiful. Lots of museums in Geneva. Including the International Red Cross museum. And you must see the Jet d'Eau. (In fact it'd be hard to miss it.) The worlds tallest water fountain is in Lake Geneve. The plume is over 450ft high. But bear in mind that a week in Switzerland could cost you about the same as a month in Britain.

The hotel and food are paid for, I just need the plane fare for myself. It's in October so we are saving now. Getting excited about this, going to take a ton of pics. We don't usually eat at expensive places or dress up and go out, more the walk around and look type, (cheap), lol Thanks for the info, didn't know where else to ask. Have a great time there --you will. I studied in Geneva (Ecole des Beaux Arts) --a long time ago-- and I came to consider this lovely city as my second home. Two places in town where you can have lunch, coffee, beers (excellent beer) at reasonable price are "Cafe d' Orient" and "Brasserie Landault", the latter is the place where Lenin use to spend most of his time while in Geneva. Both are near the University campus and are frequented by the students. Also, when in the Old Town don't forget to try the "fondue" at "Les Armoiries". Geneve used to be a crime-free city and I'm told it still remains quite safe. The Swiss are very polite people and their ladies among the handsomest in Central Europe. I wish you to enjoy your stay there. :)

I included the ladies bit as a kind warning, dear... lol ...and remember to check out what's on at the "Grand Theatre" --also in the University campus area... They usually bring in some great stuff; opera, ballet, classical plays, concerts etc. with top performers. Cheers :)
