Subject: Expressionless art? No, expressionless life

A frequent complaint about Poser pix is the lack of facial expression. Seems to be especially true with Vicky, who is especially vacant-looking. But it's possible to have the same lack of morph dials in real life. Why, I don't know!!!!

I think it is because people don't use the morph dials enough

That is an unfortunate gal - as she is probably the photographer's daughter, wife, girlfriend, or sister and threatened with bodily harm if she moves a muscle.

Excuse me while I go bleach my eyes. Could she possibly have chosen more unflattering pants?

I suspect Petunia has the right explanation. If the photog wanted perfect sameness, he should have simply used a plastic mannequin. The point of using a live model is to get some life into the pictures!

Sure, she has no expression, but look at all the textures that someone made for that outfit, and the hair painting is so realistic! The sword is too small and the temple is underlit, though. Seriously, looking at those pictures just made me sad. Poor thing. But as regards Poser, Ghost is exactly right. It's actually a lot of fun to create facial expressions, even very mild ones. Don't forget to move the eyeballs, too. I have no idea why so many people work hard on everything about a render except for putting some life into the face and eyes. Too many Stepford Vickies! :-)

I have seen that site before. It was made by an artist (student?) as a humourous project.

Ah. Now that truly makes sense.

Follow the 'Vice Magazine' link on the front/home page and take a gander at the forum comments there...Warning! Extreme vulgarity.

Wow! That is even more fun than the site with the hair (I loved the story about the hairdresser's unfortunate daughter). We obviously have a woman who collects sweaters of the more atrocious/effusive/gaudy variety as a joke. It looks like her friends are in on the joke, too. I'm almost willing to bet that she is in my age range, because that is how I had my hair in jr high, and that is when my grandmothers sent the worst excesses masquerading as sweaters. No beads or sequins, though. Pity. They might be worth money now... to a collector of such rarified tastes. Carolly

That's the first time I've ever seen anyone look fatter in black. However the layout is more pleasant than our Marketplace and easier to negotiate. Emily

I especially liked Creme la' Tart. :-)
