Subject: Aeon Teen Boy Clothes and M3 Bodysuit

mathman ( ) posted Thu, 27 May 2004 at 7:49 AM ยท edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 7:36 PM

Hi all, I have just purchased the Seth character. The instructions state that the default clothes require the M3 Bodysuit (blM3BodySuit.obj) to convert the RTE. I have searched my hard disk high and low, and also searched the DAZ Store and cannot find this M3 Bodysuit anywhere..... Am I missing something here ? ... Any help appreciated. regards, Andrew

How bizarre, it doesn't appear to be in the DAZ store now. WEIRD! Perhaps you should ask in the DAZ forums. It's really strange that it's not in the store... bonni

Click on "product spotlight" on the sidebar menu at DAZ. In the premiere store. The M3 bodysuit is there. (I'd give you the link, but I gather that's not permitted any more.)

It's actually the Ultra Body Suit. So if you searched on bodysuit, it probably wouldn't come up.

I couldn't find it until you pointed it out. We're not allowed to give a direct link to a product on another store? When did that happen?! Andrew, I'll send you a PM. ;-) bonni

Nope .. No direct link to a competitor's store bonni ... Been going on for a while now I think.

If you search on body suit instead of bodysuit, it comes up.

No link to a "competitor store"?? Think about that one folks..if it it wasn't for DAZ products as well as a few other places, probably over 95% of the store stuff here wouldn't even exsist. Love the great philosophical thinking in some of the stupid things that come up in the daily operation of 3D graphics. Erm.... As long as it isn't YOU posting a link to YOUR product, you can link to whatever you please. If you aren't going to gain some money from the item, or have the possibility of gaining money, it isn't advertising. If that isn't so, someone please point it out in the TOS to me. Link to M3 Ultra Bodysuit at DAZ3D.

Someone said you couldn't even post a link to a direct item even if it wasn't yours ..

I've never seen that posted officially.

Here are some other products not sold at Renderosity that I enjoy (Note, I am NOT the artist. I have nothing to gain from this post other than the possibility that someone else besides myself will see these items and get a little sunshine in their lives too):

Victoria 3, sold at Daz3D. Although polygon-intensive and has a much higher learning-curve than the Poser 4 Nude Woman, this is a rather nice figure.

ProClub Koshini Family Brushes (PS7, sold at PoserPros. A Very nice Artist's resource for creating textures for Lady LittleFox's Koshini 1 & 2 and Kiki figures.

Transpond's Toil 'n Trouble, sold at RuntimeDNA. A great scene set, perfect for letting your innermost fairies (or faeries, if you like) flounce about like the fluff-brained noodles they are, or slap Victoria and Hankster's Temple Ruins (Daz3d) down on the hillside for a little NVIATWS action.

If the PTB have actually stated we can't spread things word of mouth, I'd have to wonder why. Fear? Hmm, maybe they should get their priorities straight and fix things instead of cracking whips. Or, it's all just a rumor.

I think it was in a post of Anton's and the reply was by someone official but past that I am not sure .. It could have been in the "What is allowed?" post ... Will search

Can't find it but perhaps a moderator will come and clarify ... Otherwise, post away :)

I read the thread linked at the top in Special Notices: All Read - Special Poser Forum Annoucement!, which basically restated the TOS in Poser Forum specific terms.

Not that you are doing it, GoM, but I get tired of anti-Renderosity people (who hang out ALL DAY LONG on Renderosity) who spout half-washed rumors about someone said they heard someone else say that someone else said this and that and Renderosity is baaaaad news, mmm-kay? Then innocent people such as you and I come along and have to dig through the garbage to find any truths.

If R'osity has indeed sunk so low that we can't tell each other about these products we've purchased and discuss their locations or (as this thread was about originally) where to locate a product when someone has requested it, then I will be packing my virtual bags. That goes beyond rumor-mongering and protection and right into the realm of standing on a street corner yelling "MINE! MINE!! ALL MINE!!!"

I mean, my goodness... I WORK at Kmart and if I happen to know Walmart has something cheaper/better than we have it (or maybe I happen to think Walmart chocolate chip cookies are better than Kmart chocolate chip cookies), I can tell customers even while I'm standing at my register in my little red-and-black uniform with my Kmart badge pinned on. I prefer to think maybe someone misinterpreted something.

Hope so to but I think it was from someone fairly official ... But it could have been someone with a theory or something too and I just garbled it :)

lhiannan ( ) posted Fri, 28 May 2004 at 3:23 PM

It's ok. Even if a mod did say it, we can't be expected to read every thread and each bit in a thread on the off chance that someone might make a ruling one way or the other. As it stands, it's not written in the TOS (which I view as THE official word). :D :D :D :D ... Here's some happy faces now. I know I need them. :D :D :D :D
