Hi, my P5JudyMagic here in the Marketplace has true epicanthal eyelid folds and lots of other head morphs. The included Jade character is modeled after a Korean-American friend. HTH - Elisa/gryffnn

I have to agree, the p5 face room makes better 'shrek' characters than it does people. But I do have to say that when you combine the p5 power to map images onto the faces, as well as the multitude of morphs available, there can usually be a compramise there somewhere. If you have an image of the face, or a picture of a general reference, I'll play around and see what I can 'morph' for you and post it back.

sorry gryffnn, you posted while I was writing.

I do that all the time, bobcat :-) I believe Eternal Posette and a Yamato Judy character also have asian faces - Elisa/gryffnn

SeoTaiji ( ) posted Thu, 27 May 2004 at 6:14 AM

are there no free ones ?

bobcat574 ( ) posted Thu, 27 May 2004 at 6:24 AM

Ha Ha gryffnn, done the same myself on occasion. Anyway SeoTaji, is there a certain person that you have in mind for the model to look like, if so than the p5 face room will allow you to morph the face to look like the person.

E-mail me a higher res set of images at bobcat574@hotmail.com, and I'll see what I can come up with for you.(it's 5 am here and I'm glad to have someone to talk to!)

I'm interested in this thread because I'm working towards Native American figures and Asian facial features are closer than anything available in Poser so far. Good luck, and I'll check back to see how this goes. I'd love a good set of N.A. faces for M2/V2 that were free!

alredy working on the N/A.

mofolicious ( ) posted Thu, 27 May 2004 at 9:41 AM

I have used photoshop to lighten and desaturate the textures to look more asian before and it works great. The textures become almost colorless so that you can apply the color in poser. Also turn bumpmaps way down. HTH, -mofo

Yes, the texture map can make a huge difference. I wanted to show the characters with the default Judy texture, with tints added, but I don't like the eyebrows in particular and only use it for background figures in my projects.

Deecey's morph pack also has the epicanthic fold, as well as other eyelid morphs and many cheek morphs.

cedarwolf ( ) posted Fri, 28 May 2004 at 9:45 AM

What is this Deecey's Morph Pack, please? This sounds as if it may have possibilities.

My Nefertiti morph isn't shown in this picture, but it is in the pack, too. :) Deecey's Egyptian face is almost asiatic... it would just take a bit of nudging. What I like is being able to move the cheekbones and lift the eyes a bit in the sockets... actually reposition most of the structures, not just reshape them. 3 more elf ear morphs isn't bad, either (although I still can't do a proper Scandinavian troll with ears to the ground). I'm currently making faces for Don's pack... finished a young black male last night. I'll see what I can do with something Chinese or Japanese. Carolly

Wow..thanks for the link! I've added the pack to my wish list.

WIP! Not aiming for the face above, but something more generic. I'm going for a peaceful look, more like a buddha with that bit of half-smile, rather than a yakuza killer, with this one. Not sure of the profile, yet. One of my friends is Chinese and we're going hiking all day Monday. I'll check with him. Even with the regular Don skin, he's looking Asian, though. I'll have to go through my textures and see if I can find something better for him to wear. Dark eyes, too. Carolly

I'm still not quite satisfied, but I've got 2 different faces which both look Asian to me. This one is younger, rounder, but not quite the peaceful buddha look. (I don't have many textures, so this is FrankFunk's Digiman tex with a yellow base tint.)

And this other is more of a stern Samurai. I need to work on his nose a bit more. I've got a couple of decent reference books on Samurai and Ninja warriors. Note that I'm deliberately not going for an anime look. Comments appreciated.

WOW Carolly, they are all really great (that's Don? LOL) but I really love that last one! 8-D Still playing catch-up with getting situated, but I hope to get back at Poser work in the next couple of days. 8-)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Mon, 07 June 2004 at 3:06 PM

I need more Excedrin. I typed my response and then closed the window before posting it. :sigh: Yup, that's Don. :) Zuian and Tadamori. I have a young black male named Denzil, but no suitable texture, there, either. (The only Mike textures I bought was Anton's Nordic Mike, and the Egyptians.) Merle is wearing the Nordic and with the Fantasy Hair looks a bit like Robinson Crusoe, so I might change his name. Eldon is an elderly magistrate type, but the jaw needs more work. There are a couple of heavier haeds where I widened the jaw instead of trimming it. I haven't forgotten the fantasy heads, either: Pan may go into an image... I even have panpipes. :) These are going more slowly than the ladies. After gallery-sweeping my eyes glaze over... we really need a couple more people on staff. But it is also inspirational. I hope that unpacking went well, and that you are settling in nicely. When you want some characters, yelp. Oh, I didn't want to overlap again, so haven't done an Egyptian. If you haven't had time, let me know. Carolly
