I just add up stuff for taxes .. Think they have run about 5 grand for the last couple of years total between the stores .. That is per year.

tonymouse ( ) posted Fri, 28 May 2004 at 2:55 PM

LALALALALALaLALA, I can't hear you I can't hear you and you can't make me!! :) I don't dare, if hubby ever found out how much of my money goes to this littel "hobby" no where neer what I make in the occasional graphics job I do.

cedarwolf ( ) posted Fri, 28 May 2004 at 3:07 PM

My lovely wife says that, off the top of her head, we've spent around $325 at DAZ, $15.00 here for copies of Renderosity magazine through Pay Pal that I never recieved (pay pal says they sent the money to 'rosity, 'rosity says they never got paid, upshot is that I got screwed out of $15 and/or a magazine) and around $225 for Poser 4 AND Poser 5 because I bought them through the campus bookstore. Total: $565. We use the free stuff because we don't have a solid income base to purchase goodies from. But...if we did....hehehehehehe.....

FishNose ( ) posted Fri, 28 May 2004 at 3:12 PM

No way! No! I will NOT add it up! Uh-uh, no. :] Fish

I won't add it up, don't need a heart attack. That's why I've been working on my modeling skills, to stop spending as much.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Fri, 28 May 2004 at 11:30 PM

Here? Less than eighty dollars. Mostly on wishlist gifts for others. I've spent even less at RunTime DNA and 3D Commune. There are plenty of products which hold my interest, I just haven't gotten around to buying them yet.

DAZ, on the other hand ... I'm not going to try to add those up. I really don't want to know.

Now, if you want to compare DVD purchases ....

Ben_Dover ( ) posted Sat, 29 May 2004 at 2:30 AM

You know....if we all disclose how much we spent here just in 2003 we'd have a very rough idea of the minimum amount of money taken in here annually. ;) I spent $58 here in 2003. Vali's textures are exclusive here and up until I discovered them I had no need to participate in any marketplaces. Now I'm just out of control, I won't discuss how much I've spent at all the marketplaces in 2004. =oP

SAMS3D ( ) posted Sat, 29 May 2004 at 4:52 AM

Definatley do not want to know, really to afraid to know how little control I have. Yikes....Sharen

rwilliams ( ) posted Sat, 29 May 2004 at 5:44 AM

Because of the way the marketplace went, and specifically a few of the vendors, I quit buying here. I just checked and I have not bought anything here since 8/19/2001. I did not realize that it had been that long. Before that I bought plenty. When I quit buying here I cut way back at the other sites. After seeing some of the totals spent above, I am glad that I got a handle on my spending. I am starting to believe that virtual items should only be purchased with virtual money. I have wanted many things, but have learned to ask myself if I really NEED them. The answer is almost always no. Most of the time I can create an image that I have in mind with something I already have, or something that I can find for free. Of course I only do this as a hobby and do not make any income with Poser.

Funny you should say that. I only started buying here after I started EARNING some money here. And that is partially due to the fact that to me, it is not "real" money G
First of all it's in a foreign curency where everything seems so cheap (since one US$ is approx. 6.20 DKK) And since I use them as in store credits - or PayPal they're never REALLY "real" to me. I haven't tallied what I've spent here, but I know what my earnings are here and since all that money are used on Poser stuff (here and elsewhere) it is quite shocking.
My Daz spendings on the other hand shivers and closes eyes... Funny btw how many of us have hubbies who would get a stroke if only they knew... I am SO GLAD there are also male shopaholics here GG

NO WAY!! will I add up money spent at this site or any other. Don't think I could bear the guilt & shame of it. Yes I'm a Poserholic :-( Is there a Hell for Poserholics who spend to much?

ockham ( ) posted Sat, 29 May 2004 at 1:52 PM

I reached the same conclusion as rwilliams... It happened when I was sorting through my runtime to get rid of unused stuff, and realized that most of the "Huh? What in the hell is that thing?" items were bought, while most of the "Use everyday" items were homemade.

I haven't actually spent nearly as much as some of the posts here - can't afford to...but sometimes there are things I think I just HAVE to have - then I make one render, get bored with the item and move onto something else. I think I must be the only 'waster' here. LOL [I feel pretty guilty spending the cash for just one render] Also , I have made a few purchase 'blunders', so I'm much more choosy about what I buy now. Lessons learned I guess! Best Regards...

voodoo ( ) posted Sat, 29 May 2004 at 11:33 PM

I think I spent about fourteen bucks here a month ago ;) That's been it.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Sun, 30 May 2004 at 5:30 AM

Hah Webmaster421. You're by far the only waster here. I've bought lots of stuff here (and at Daz) that I haven't even USED for one single render. I just bought it because of the "WOW" factor. Of c ourse I PLAN to use them all some day... but... er..G
