Subject: PInstall....won't

Good evening all! I purchased the PInstall program today, downloaded it and took it home. It unzipped happily, but when I click on Setup.exe, all I get is about 10 seconds of hourglass, and then... nothing. It appears in my Windows Task Manager as a task, but doesn't DO anything. I redownloaded it and get the same results. I'm running WinXP Pro. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong - but why won't it install? Thanks for any help y'all can give me.

I recently purchased it and it installed fine. I don't think the download itself is bad, but I am not sure how best to resolve it. Try installing something else that uses an install shield wizard. It could be some of the common files have become corrupted.

Certainly worth a try - thanks!

Well, I looked around and can't find anything else with the InstallShield installer. I did put an email in to the store to see what they could do, and I haven't heard back yet. I was so hoping this program would help me get my uninstalled .zips under control, but it won't do squat unless I can get it to install. I also left a message at Digital Criminals, but hadn't seen a reply yet. This is kinda frustrating! Oh, and I did d/l what I assume is an earlier version from them - same results, unzips fine but Setup.exe is a no go.

Do you get any sort of error message? Also is there anything written in the system or application logs when it fails? You can view those logs by right clicking on My Computer and choose manage.

No, no error message. It DOES show up (as many times as I clicked Setup.exe) on the Processes page of the Task Manager. Anyway, after multiple reboots and trying over and over again, it finally loaded. I have no clue what I was doing wrong but it's happy now. And I'm happy with it - I loaded a bunch of my Later folder materials quickly and painlessly - now I just need to move them around to get my folders back under control!
