ok..hoping AS doesnt' delete this..just noticed this. have four bryce images displayed in an art festival here..all the other 44 artists are well known painters, sculptors, etc..me being the only CG person there. Feel really really akward.. Firstly..I print the images..using metallic print, on photo paper. Most people here think it's photography (landscapes)and can't imagine how one can do this on a comp. And if they do figure out that it's been done on a comp..their first impression is..oh, you shot it and then worked on it in photoshop. Nopes..didn't do any post work in photoshop. But that's what everyone's brains tell them.:-) Secondly..been told by many that I'm one of the few pple here who actually create art on a comp.. as an artist. Is it only India..or the rest of the world too, where CG art is still nouveau art? Thirdly..you know this decision of mines to try maya? (I will..I have to..or will be blown to pieces for not trying it out..) but what with everyone getting so confused as to what it is..whether it is photography or comp art, and have their mouth drop..I don't think I can leave bryce. (not that I was thinking..but..you never know..maya pple been talking so much..and you guys too..about it..) Fourthly..fell into this discussion with a famous artist here..is CG art art? We take models from here, materials from there..put it into place, fiddle around with it.. create objects with objects, etc.. A painter takes a blank canvas.. and with paint...creates an image. What is our medium? Bryce? or the computer? Just my thoughts..have three more days of the festival to go thru..lots of pple turning up for it. I love it when you see pple crowd around my images.. pointing, oohing and aahing. :-)

I like when people say I just push a button and the computer does all the work to create a CG artwork. I say, "Yes, but on average it takes about 10 hours or more to push that button." CG Art will come to be more and more accepted by the public, it will just take time.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

P.S. Photography took a while for the public to accept as an art form, too.

Erosiaart, you said, "I love it when you see pple crowd around my images.. pointing, oohing and aahing" - i believe that if you have people doing that, well it means your work is saying something to them - and that's what art is about IMHO :)
