Hi all, I was looking for a beautiful model of castle, but i had found one to www.turbosquid.com... 125$ !! too expensive for me... then I have thought to create of one free for all! (image rendered in broadcast mode with 45 light using my radiosity scene generator, download it from my website...)

Or a 3ds? not sure if they are platform interchangable but 3ds will hold textures when inported to vue correct? but what ever.. thanks what a guy... oh and if you are a girl... what a gal :) thomas

well, 10x for all kind words... now in my website you can download also the 3DS version with mapped texture, unfortunally Vue Pro resize the 1200x1600 bitmap and the resolution is not like the VOB version... BUT !! in zip file you have also the 1200x1600 maps... why dont remap and send me a 3DS version with hi-res textures ? ;)

WAAAAA......... doesn't work... but before getting all worried and trying to fix anything see if other mac people here are having troubles, because Vue hasn't done anything right on my machine since i got it, i still can't import Poser files with mover, can't import Obj files without major re-alignments and such stuff....

also.. what are all the jpg's I know you need one or two for maps.. but there are like 30 of them.. is this part of 3ds? never used it so I'd have no idea.

thanks :)

realy nice work there rodluc, thnx for sharing

rodluc2001 ( ) posted Mon, 31 May 2004 at 11:24 AM

well thomllama, i'm a little bit frustrated beacause the export object of Vue dont work so fine... the only format that save the texture is 3DS, but the few maps become MANY maps... i dont know why... but i've imported the 3DS in 3DS studio Max 6 and the model have correct textures... so i think only way is 3DS with all the "remapped" jpgs...

thomllama ( ) posted Mon, 31 May 2004 at 1:11 PM

well i just completly rebuilt my system.. right down to overwriting the drive with 1's and 0's... so let me try again in a bit now because Vue and poser are both running MUCH better and seem to be more stable (though only have had a little time playing so who knows for sure)

I tried importing both the Vue model and the 3DS model, on a Macintosh. Vue4.22 wouldn't read the file. Possibly because the file is a Vue Pro file. I try importing the 3DS file into Bryce 5, PoserPro 4 and LightWave 7.5 in all instanced the 3DS file imported as the picture included shows.

thomllama ( ) posted Mon, 31 May 2004 at 8:02 PM

yup that's what i got.. but you can brake all the parts up and the castle is there :) maybe go back to his org idea and export as obj file?
