Subject: Red X's in the gallery

When I go to the galleries, all I get is blank squares and red x's. I have check my computer for all the usual suspects and I can't figure out what is going on....

Check the date and time of your system clock. If they are out, you won't see the galleries properly.

Yup, that's one of the main culprits. Whenever the red X strikes it's 99% of the time due to either your clock being out (don't forget to check the date too) or a corrupted cookie (clear your cookies in your browser.) The remaining 1% it's simply because somebody forgot to feed the gremlins again...

Just out of curiosity, does anybody know why your local system clock has anything to do with displaying thumbnails or images in the galleries?

Ron, I think it's because the gallery submissions are datestamped and also checked against the preferences cookies which are set for your account. If I'm right, you shouldn't be able to view any gallery submissions which your computer thinks are in advance of its own internal date.

Ahhh that makes sense... thanks.

Well it both makes sense and then not. Since we're on different timezones here. Since it's right now almost midnight here, wouldn't a picture I post in 20 minutes be posted "tomorrow" for all you americans? (and english peeps too)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

I think cookie handling automatically takes timezones into account.
