Subject: Fantasy Contest! (repost of info)

Since these things tend to get lost after a page or so...I thought I would repost Mistdragon's announcement so we would be sure to get alot of great entries in addition to the ones we have gotten so far. It will be my birthday on June 11 and I thought that Ferguson had an awesome idea to hold a contest! So I am going to, too. I'm going to offer the same prize, $25 US (I'm Canadian so to me it's worth even more lol) and the picture will be due on Friday June 11 at midnight Renderosity Time (as soon as I figure out what Renderosity Time is). Judging will take place between June 11 and June 18, 2004. The theme? Well I loved Ferguson's fantasy idea, so I will stay with that and go with "Fantasy Women: The Magic-Users" That's right folks, now it's time to lay down the swords and axes and pull out your magic-missile bearin' babes! :D Mage, witch, sorceress, druid, bard, what-have-you, just portray them using any spell or form of magic. Software: Poser and any other imaging software that you see fit. Postwork accepted and encouraged, however much or little you like to use. The picture must comply with the Renderosity TOS and please one image per person. Please title the image "MistDragon's Fantasy Contest" when you post it to your gallery, that is how I will be able to find the image! Please note: I will be paying the winner by PayPal and it will take 1-2 weeks (probably around the first of July) for the monies to be received. Sorry for the inconvenience! First place - $25.00 Second Place - $10.00 donated by Lunaseas Plus they will also recieve one item of choice from Lululee's store. (Thank you so much Lululee!) Some great stuff has come our way...don't be shy, join in!!!

MistDragon, 'rosity is in central time so you can figure local time difference from there :-)

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

Lunaseas, If you look at the top of the page, left side, under the banner for Renderosity, it should say "welcome Lunaseas" followed by the date and time. Renderosity is on CST. Just don't spam the forums, and it would be nice if, after the contest is over, you who are running these contests clean up the gallery posts which are only announcements (text in box) rather than images, because people browsing the galleries are looking for art. This is like removing posters after an election... months later an announcement has lost its timeliness. Personally, I think celebrating your birthday by inviting folks to make art is a great idea... and offering a prize is generous. Some wonderful images were born in Ferguson's contest, so I hope to see good stuff here as well. Carolly

Thank you hauksdottir .. I had planned to remove the posts (images/text) as soon as the contest ends. Is it okay if I make one gallery post of the two winner's images and leave that up? I'm assuming so, but I thought I would check to make sure. -June

Leaving a post of the winning images (with maybe a banner or blue ribbon or whatever affixed) ought to be fine... it is just that the text boxes are more like ads than like art. Good luck with it! Carolly
