Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 07 6:34 pm)
Go to PoserFashion.net, and check out their tutorials on dynamic cloth. (Just go to their Poser 5 section, download a free dress, and read the instructions.) Dynamic clothing is very different from conforming clothing. You have to run a little animation to get it to fit. (But don't worry, it's easy. Takes longer than conforming clothes, but the results are worth it.)
Thanks for the advice. I took a look at it and it looks like it will be very helpful for the Dynamic clothing. Anyone have advice for the conforming clothing? Is conforming clothing relevant any more? My problem with Conforming was this: "Regular clothing stays on, when it is set to conform to Figure 1 but some skin is always poking through (especially if I have changed the arm size on a guy or breasts on a woman)." Please Advise.
I still use conforming clothing. It's a lot faster! But as you've noticed, there's a problem if you morph the figure. The clothing won't fit any more. There are various things you can do. 1) Buy clothing with the same morphs as your figure. Some clothes have a lot of morphs built-in, some have none. Choose clothes that contain the morphs you want to use. Then you can just set the dials in the clothing to match the dials in the figure, and it should fit. 2) Make the body parts that are sticking out invisible. (In the Hierarchy menu.) This only works if the offending part is completely covered. 3) Use a magnet to pull the clothing out a little, so everything's covered. 4) The Tailor (available at DAZ3d.com). This is a program that lets you transfer morphs from the figure to the clothing. There are other programs that do this, but The Tailor is the most widely used. 5) Post work.
Where can I get a good tutorial on applying magnets to clothes? I searched the Tuts on this site and didnt find any. I played around with the magnets a little and got some interesting effects, but not what I intended. Also, thanks again randym77, the tutorial on PoserFashion was great. I completed a successful pose and render with the dynamic clothes.

Traveler's tutorials on magnets were the ones that really helped me understand them. You can find them in the Tutorials section of RDNA. Just look for Morphing with Magnets (there are 4 parts). This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible. Im new to Poser(v5) and not highly experienced at 3D in general.
It seems like Im having way more difficulty with clothing than I should. I cant seem to keep the dynamic clothing on the figure when its posed. The dress for example just aligns to the hips or something, but doesnt stay with the rest of the body. Regular clothing stays on, when it is set to conform to Figure 1 but some skin is always poking through (especially if I have changed the arm size on a guy or breasts on a woman).
Someone please share some advice or point me in the right direction before I go crazy.
