Subject: Curious about other programs besides Poser that leave you broke!

Shadow_Fyre ( ) posted Sat, 05 June 2004 at 5:50 PM · edited Fri, 15 November 2024 at 10:00 PM

Are there any other programs where content can be developed and sold and bought like we do for Poser? Poser sucks me dry! .....don't tell anyone I'm addicted.

I hear that Windoze Girlfriend can be a bit of a drain on the finances, but nothing compared with Microfost Wife when the upgrade Microfost Mistress is installed over the top :)

ok weezie...I wont tell if you don't tell.....LOL and it was a bit draining on my pocketbook at first, and Im proud to say that I've managed to get that under control. And Poser is the only proggy that I buy anything for...well,except maybe an occasional plugin or filter for my PSP or PS7.

I always have a constant battle going between Poser and www.uspa.org

sandoppe ( ) posted Sat, 05 June 2004 at 11:57 PM

Well.....igohigh....at least Poser can't get you killed!! :) Weezie, I've never encountered anything quite like Poser for sucking a hole in your pocket book.....ever!! I've had a lot of hobbies that have taxed my resources, but Poser takes the cake!

Shadow_Fyre ( ) posted Sun, 06 June 2004 at 12:45 AM

I agree, I have had lots of hobbies too but Poser is the only one that's been consistent over the years and probably the only one that I've put this much 'dough' into! Phil - haha, funny man ;) igohigh - well, I can see where you get your nick and you would never see me up there doing that!

igohigh ( ) posted Sun, 06 June 2004 at 2:44 AM

"I can see where you get your nick" Ah gee...is my zipper down again?!? sandoppe; I wouldn't be too sure about that, many a nights I've sat in front of the monitor till my legs fell asleep then go to get up and WHAMM!, flat on my face!! You know, more people put their eye out each year with a drinking straw then people get hurt jumping from a plane...honestly!!

"many a nights I've sat in front of the monitor till my legs fell asleep then go to get up and WHAMM!, flat on my face!!" what a relief to know i'm not the only person that does that!!!! LOL I used to build model cars for a hobby and it was quite expensive, hubby said get a cheaper hobby so i got poser :S now my hubby is begging me to go back to my cars..LOL

I know just what your talking about. My husband told me I couldn't buy anymore poser clothes till I went shopping for myself. He said I was starting to look like a bag lady. So my Shopper sister took me shopping last thursday and I bought a whole new wardrobe, everything. and it still cost less than I spend on Poser in a year. ( not counting shoes) I'm in the process of reloading Poser, and am not going to buy David, I've only used Michael a few times. Now I say to myself, will I really use this product? Most of the time it's NO. I hope this will keep this years bill down.

Love is Grandchildren.

One of those times it would be nice to have a husband, I guess! :) I've started the same questioning process (will I really use this product?). Most of the time it ends up in a big argument between the two little voices in my brain....the sensible one that says "no" and the compulsive spender one that says "you might...and isn't it just preciious!" :)

Tutle; just tell him that's why they made Potato sacks. Since there are none in Vicky's size......

Excessive government spending on special interest programs leave all of us broke or near broke.

AntoniaTiger ( ) posted Sun, 06 June 2004 at 3:26 PM

I have a stack of Microsoft Flight Simulator stuff, but I'm well behind the curve. I stopped with FS98, which is still pretty good. But that, and Train Simulator, can still soak up the cash. Hmm, I wonder if there's a way to stick Poser people into FS98 scenery...

sandoppe ( ) posted Sun, 06 June 2004 at 7:37 PM

Excessive government tax breaks for the rich and dropping millions of dollars worth of "weapons of mass destruction" on third world countries doesn't help our pocket books either nakamuram :) Sorry.....just couldn't resist :)

nakamuram ( ) posted Sun, 06 June 2004 at 10:17 PM

Yeah, but those aren't programs.

sandoppe ( ) posted Mon, 07 June 2004 at 1:34 AM

No.....they're not "programs"....they're just "stupid"

catlin_mc ( ) posted Mon, 07 June 2004 at 7:06 AM

I know what you mean Turtle I spend a fortune on V3 and all her friends and will quite happily buy her ooddles of dresses etc. But when it comes to buying clothes for myself I'm always looking out for sales and telling myself that I can't get this or that 'cos it's too expensive. There must be a cure for this addiction somewhere. lol 8)

sandoppe ( ) posted Mon, 07 June 2004 at 10:29 AM

If you find a cure catlin, let us all know!! I'm itching to get David, but know I probably don't need him! :)

Shadow_Fyre ( ) posted Mon, 07 June 2004 at 10:30 AM

Therapy? "Hi, my name is weezie, and I'm a Poser addict...."

nakamuram ( ) posted Mon, 07 June 2004 at 12:55 PM

Hi, I am nakamuram and I am addicted to Poser. I am not rich (none of us Poserholics are), so I am not getting any tax breaks. I am in favor of government programs to help Poserholics. Also, I am in favor of dropping bombs on terrorists, because that will make all of us poor so we will all be equal and none of us will get tax breaks for the rich.
