THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: June 2004 Challenge - Chill Out Zone

Chill Out Zone.

With so much stress in the world, everyone needs to take a deep breath and then slowly breath out. It's time for some global calming.

Render a picture that promotes or shows relaxation, or calming thoughts.

A pastime, a hobby, a mood, a game, a vacation, a sport, a view, a garden, nature...

Anything goes, realism, landscape, people, abstract, but it has to promote or show or induce calmness or relaxation.

Imports and postwork are allowed, but use your own judgment of a suitable level (when creating and voting). With imports, remember to credit the source and try not to make the import the focus of the image.

I trust that when it comes to voting, people will base their votes on artistic quality, but also on how calming they feel the picture is.

I think this allows quite a wide range of styles and we should get quite an eclectic mix, but linked by a theme.

A very appropriate topic for the June challenge!

So we don't even have to use Bryce on a Bryce Challenge????LOL

Funny! You can do pretty much anything you want. I will leave the good voters to decide if the level of postwork and indeed the picture itself qualifies for the Bryce challenge or not. That would be an interesting experiment in itself, but I feel the use of Bryce is implied here and contributers know what is acceptable.

Oh yes, I like this theme. Now the question is, can I do it? I'm so stressed right now that I'd love to crawl into a calm image.

Is self-medication allowed?

Interesting subject, and in a way not too far removed from the June challenge subject in the challenge arena, the challenge there is called "slow honey days" It will be very interesting to see what develops in both.

LOL, I really did 'laugh out loud' when I saw this challenge, as it's exactly what I'm working on in The Real World. I don't normally put links to my site anywhere online, 'cos I don't want to be on search engines....but if you go to my main site which is agnesconway dot com, then see the project called 'A Place For Feeling Good In' you'll see what a coincidence this is....... LOL again!!!

danamo ( ) posted Sun, 06 June 2004 at 3:17 AM

Wow! I checked out your site Pog and I have to say I'm extremely impressed! You have done some beautiful sculpture and installation pieces and I enjoyed the visit. I would agree that this is quite a coincidence...or is it synchronicity?

I think it shows that everyone needs some calming.

I noticed that the Brycers were having trouble chilling out. So a calming image was submitted 8-) Good Luck to everyone!

Didn't you know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's why eyedrops and rose-colored glasses are needed.

WHAT??? We have trouble CHILLING OUT? what are you TALKING ABOUT???? Prepare to feel my rage, puny person!!! hey, great idea for the challenge!!! Coolness

KeremGogus ( ) posted Wed, 16 June 2004 at 2:25 PM

Thats great - I really like to join the contest. When I submit my work I get a message about approving, but I don't get any confirming e-mail two days after from sending ?... Is my work rejected ?...

drawbridgep ( ) posted Wed, 16 June 2004 at 5:35 PM

I've never known AS to reject one. I'm sure he would tell you if it was. I'm afraid that our mod does have something called a "real life" that gets in the way of all the Rosity stuff. Luckily I don't have anything in my life other than Renderosity. Don't stress, plenty of time.

Whew... Finally finished rendering mine! I was having trouble CHILLING OUT myself, I found myself cursing at my computer quite often during the seven-day render time. Ahh but I am relaxed now.
