I'm wondering what others think of this one. I myself think it still needs some work, a few idea's would come on handy. :)

Ahem, forgot to tell that I got the bird from zebra3.net and the flowers and plants in pots from 3dplants.com and the flying bird in the distance came from 3dmodelworld.com

Hee heee!....I think it looks great with the Poser catsneaking behind the little birdie ready to pounce on it......missed and eventually fell off....LOL! Bloodsong has a morph that has sort of bring the cat shoulder up as in a "ready to pounce" stance...right Bloodsong? Bill

heyas; i thought that doorway thing was a mat on the picture. it looks a little flat, and maybe the shadows near/under it could be darker. i like the scene though, and i like looking at it through the heavy stone frame there. are you using the vue demo? the shadows on the foreground there are dotty at the edges; that usually happens when you try to cast soft shadows, but don't turn on soft shadows in the render options. i think it has to be a final or ultra render mode to get those to come on. or a custom setup; you can see soft shadows in the middle section. and yep, tesign! i have morphs for the cat shoulders to do that. :)

Nice picture. :) How about maybe something in the foreground to hint at what might be on "our" side of the scene here? Maybe a tiled floor running perpendicular to the patio entrance with the lines of the tiles in perspective subtly pointing into the scene? But actually, I think if you just simply chopped off the bottom of it, right below the clay pots, it would make for a better picture....the lower part of it below the pots just seems a bit too dead. I like it otherwise, though...the colors are very cool and unified, and I can see a definite shift in the overall warmth of the picture from the background to the foreground without any drastic contrasts. The yellow of the bird offsets the violet of the flowers nicely. :) Cheers, Mike

Hey Rynn, got a great idea. What about having a model of our new moderator sneaking behind with a butterfly net in one hand and an empty bird cage in the other :) I think Mike would not mind having him featured. Hope he is honored though.....LOL! I can provide a caption :) (Don't take art to seriously...just can't forget Bloodsong dragonfly in frog's mouth and that fish barbecueing marshmellow in a fish bold!.....LOL!) Bill

Woo hoo, thanks for all those good idea's. :) I got poser 3 since about 2 days, because it came free with 3D World. Which was a very good thing, cause i don't have the money at the moment to buy poser 4. Anyways, I have been practising a bit with it, in the end I got the poser cat in a walking position. After I broke it's legs for about 20 times I think, lol. The cat is a good idea though. :) I think I might need another material for the doorway. This one is so stoney. I did get a few idea's for it myself though. And I used the final render method, but I think I'll try the customised one next time. Some more rendering might get the shadows right. And then the tiled floor. Well, I love the idea. :) Anyways, everyone, thank you so much. grin

Yeah Bill, you're right....gotta have some fun, don't we? How about you with your .45 there, slightly out of the scene (but we know it's you because we can see your shadow), ready to "hit" the first person or animal that even comes CLOSE to that poor little birdie?! ;) ................................................. Rynn, You know Vue's marble textures look pretty cool... I love them, and I was thinking a dark marble material might look really good in place of what you have, but whatever you do, how about posting this pic in the Vue gallery when it's done to your liking. I like it, and I'm sure others would, too. :) Cheers, Mike

Urrh arh!....you are right about the .45 (make of plastic and and cheap rubber bullet that bounce miles away when it hit the target). I ain't shooting anyone but I gonna wait till the birdie is caught, (even the cat) poin at whoever at point blank and say..."give me that" :) Good luck with your final oiece Rynn! Bill
