There used to be a Renderocity.com but it seems to be gone now.

As I understand it, it's a pun on luminosity and/or radiosity. At least the stress is same.

This site was originally called "Poserforum" (originally launched in December 1998) A contest was held for members to come up with a new name. Member "Elfsong", came up with the wining name, "Renderosity". (in October 1999) AS
