Subject: OT - sad news about Don Tatro

TheDane ( ) posted Sat, 19 June 2004 at 4:26 PM · edited Sun, 08 December 2024 at 12:23 AM

this sad message was posted in bryce newsgroup today. "I just want to inform everybody who's interested that Don Tatro passed away on Friday from cardiac arrest. I was asked to inform his newsgroup friends. I don't have any access to the Poser group, and I also don't know which other groups he was posting to, so if somebody of you would please spread this information." I'm chokked, he posted an image there just yesterday... He was a great person and artist in my opinion, and he will be missed. his pictures had a special touch of Tatro.

So sad...His spirit, and sense of humor, will live on in his work.

Very sad. I didn't know him as well as I know some of you, but I've often seen him post pictures. He did churn out an incredible amount of consistant work. Very sad indeed.

If this is true, its very sad but I seem to remember a similar rumour of his death was posted in the newsgroups a couple of years ago. Theres a whole lot of replys to the original posting on the NG but my server hasnt let me download any messages all day so I cant say what the general feeling is there. Fingers crossed. To continue in this sad vein, theres a report on the Poser forum here that Ironhart has also passed on. He was responsible for some very nice cottage models in the MP. He`ll be missed.

This is very sad news. He was an outstanding artist, and it was always a pleasure to go through his gallery. He will be missed, but he will be remembered.

Well, it looks like it`s true. I was hoping it was just some hoaxer like before. His mix of artistry and humour will be missed. My condolences to his family.

I had to go look at his gallery again, and reflect a minute. I really liked his work, it seemed he was "talking" to us every day with a new picture. There was a consistency and reliability that very few others could match. I'll sure miss him, and IronHeart too.

Death comes to us all, and we all wake from the dream some time. May you find water and shade, Don...

Before I started with Bryce, Don's work in the newsgroup: alt.binaries.3d.bryce inspired me and made me want to do stuff with Bryce. He was such an honest and free artist who expressed and shared his thoughts. We will miss you Don, Rest well.
