Subject: Do you ever have the feeling that you're falling behind??

Darboshanski ( ) posted Wed, 23 June 2004 at 10:31 AM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 6:00 AM

I feel like I'm falling behind the rest of the 3D world. I didn't buy poser 5 when it was released and I tried D/S and just couldn't use it so I am still using poser 4. It maybe is just me but it seems like everyone is moving ahead but I stay in the same spot...LOL!!! Does anyone else ever feel this way? smiles

Yup, all the time. But the important question is whether a new version or a new tool is really ahead.... I can think of several recent examples of new versions that fall backward in terms of usability. As long as you can do the work you want or need to do, keeping up with the Dazzes doesn't matter.

How can you not? Especially now? and there is nothing wrong with using Poser 4. At least not until Poser 6 comes out....

Poser 6 sounds grand! I just hope that it will not have the problems 5 did when it was released. I guess that was one of the reasons I resisted change...LOL!!!!

I've had Poser, since as someone wrote in a thread somewhere "before it had a number attached" (Still have my floppies). JCM, ERC, .cr2 Hacking, PHI building, Joint Parameter tweaking, dynamic cloths and hair, INJ and MAT Poses, geomtery switching.... Heck, I'm glad a render comes out half decent. I'm with ya!

Every day I wake up and put on my shoes. too much information to take in and not enough hours in the day. I want to get upset at people that say Poser is instant art. Obviously they have never worked with this stuff.

I feel the same as you do....only I have to say that my time is limited..........so every chance I get, to try these programs out........means a lot! If I have to spend too much time trying to figure this thing or that thing out........wellll.........I probaly won't do it. That doen't mean the program isn't good....it just means that I don't have the time to evaulate it fairly.

They say we are moving 8.1 times faster today, than people who lived 100 years ago, the dreaded time. So, today time does fly. Their goes my quantum physics..hehe.

This puts me in mind of an old saying I remember seeing on a doctor's desk, once. "The faster I go, The behinder I get." Does it seem to you that time is going faster- or is it just me?

." Does it seem to you that time is going faster- or is it just me? I feel that way too...as if time is in the rush to get rid of me...6 feet under LOL

Do I ever! I can make ERC clothing with full body morphs and joint controlled morphs, but I have yet to make an INJ file for V3 or M3, I don't know how! I know where to get the information, but I guess I learn on a need to know basis. There are too many manuals to read and not enough time ( have you ever seen a Lightwave manual....it's 3" thick!)

Happily useing ProPack until CuriousLabs gets it together and/or D/S supports magnets or a 3rd party plug-in makes mags usable in D/S. :-)

Just remember! The faster you move the slower time will pass. That is why it pass so fast when you sleep. ;D

That's called Paranoia. Just because you're Paranoid though, It doesn't mean you're wrong! Right now they're testing out those reconnaisance(spelling?) drone planes on the Southern border to check Mexican border activity.
