Im working on this for a couple of days, already, and i'm now in process of thinking what else I can do about it b4 the final render, any suggestions, what I should do?

Some dirt, some age, some vegetation, no modern stuff (wires in the air, flag, antenna) birds maybe and possibly a dog(s) sniffing around in the street....

You know? It always amazes me how people forget the little things, like gutters and downpipes, manhole covers, doorbells/knockers.......street lights.............

The light is strange.. where does it come from? From left, from right? It doesn't look right for a outdoor scene.

Also, a little colour. Pure grey-scale is very unusual (especially with a coloured sky). Just a hint of yellow on the various walls, and (a hint of) brown on the door; some subdued colours on the cobbled path, similarly subdued red-orange colours on the roofs, and a BRIGHT RED on the post-box-like thingy between the main door and the window (to provide the centre of interest)... Just a thought.. (you could probably get away with that without having to add any additional modelling). Lovely modelling - keep it up!! Cheers, Diolma

bazze, I think the light comes from 5 o'clock x 10 clock high(or is that 2 0clock ). there is no Oh darn! Zhann, what's that property of light I keep forgetting the name of? Oh I remember caustics. no that's not it. Anyrate in layman's terms because I'm about to go off for an hour or two, there would be some kinda glow and softening of shadows from the light bouncing off walls and things. Perhaps we'll see that in the final. in any case I'm thinking of a lighting tutorial someone here referenced which also had some great wood texturing in it if I remember right. Anyway the tutorial talked about how the shadows would be effected by the intensity and directness of the light which is worth thinking about here. Good observation! Kemel, I think it looks pretty good! I thought a trellis(ramada-like) with plants vines(?) interwoven over the enclosed area might also look good. maybe some potted plants hanging off that. and yes can't forget the little birds please post progress - this is interesting like to see what you end up doing with it! - TJ

Bryster,
No ambience is just on the surface of the object and spreads evenly over the object. I dunno I haven't played with true ambience tha might work, but what I'm thinking about I think you'd have to fake with low inensity lights in Bryce or post in photoshop. Vile AgentSmith and a few others have posted on this in the past, but right now I'm too confused by this DAZ thing to discuss it properly. perhaps I am thinking of caustics but I think theres another term for it. "Alpineglow", mountains that seem to remain lit by the sun just after it's rays stop hitting
them at about sunset, is a term I heard long ago to describe what I'm thinking of.
