I don't know if it is possible, but can flash take an image file and rename it so that it keeps multiple backups? For instance, take a picture from a webcam and rename the file so that the next time the cam takes a picture, the files won't be overwritten?

The only thing automatic about Flash is tweening . :^) I've witnessed programmers do amazing things with .swf files ,but making them manipulate jpg's on a webserver isn't one of them Maybe an autoftp program or cgi script would work better

You would have to do what you want server side. Make a cgi, or php3 script that copy s the current .Swf. To put the images info the swf automagically you would need to use Generator from macromedia Peace and Creativity Chris
