No, not bad at all. Actually, it's great. Possibly a different mask in C. Now if you could control DTE to get the rust drippings...

Is it all procedural, or do you have a phototexture or 2 in there? Oh, and will you post it to freestuff?

I made it with complete ignorance and wild, random mouse clicking. No...seriously. I myself am going to study it/use it as a template to make other rocks, lol. Download it at the link, have fun. ;o) AgentSmith

Gotcha. I'm trying it out on different settings. Please forgive the low res render. The texture looks good as a ground plane texture, as well. I had to tweak it a bit to get a similar look on a poser figure (changed the obj cubic settings to world cubic, and doubled the size settings). In the process, I discovered something interesting that I didn't know. Apparently the presence or absence of a terrain can affect the altitude reading of a texture on other objects. This image has a terrain in it to make the rocks.

The same setup, just deleted the terrain. Weird, huh?

It is an awsome Rock mat,but tell me... Is that supposed to be moss or darker granite clusters AS. If moss, then perhaps a bit of fuzzing on the finished work would be more realistic. I know its easier for me to give C&C than to do,but that's what I would try.

dBgrafix, have no idea. I really just started clicking. But...I think I like it as a darker part of the rock (granite clusters). I'll have to experiment with controlling the different areas. Yeah, the rock mat does have a altitude sensitive part to it, so you should notice a difference when having different set-ups like tjohn. AS

Some of the rock .mats I made on my way to the one offered above. They haven't made the cut, as of yet. Not quite real looking enough, imo. Lol, don't even ask what that object is... AS

Agent Smith, The top parts on all but the bottom right looks sort of like they could be a fossiliferous limestone. You might try getting a used book on elementry geology, a lab manuel for such or a copy of Dana's Mineralogy at your local J.C. for reference materials. They usally have lots of rock/mineral texture pictures as well as structure picts. - TJ
