I'm using P5 but sometimes I render with P4 when I have trouble with FireFly. I will check RDNA... I bookmarked Microcosm but do not think I will make the purchase at this point... I have trouble searching their Freestuff (I get mostly gallery images when I do) but I'll give it a werl. I just want a nice pretty low overhead setting for cheesecake/pinup renders... you know... pretty woman in the surf... preferably with really real water for close ups. I still have not come up with good mesh drapery for pinup either but I'm working on it... Satin Studio just doesn't work for what I am doing though the author of it is very kind to have made it available... I need something more mesh based. So on this beach I have a plain sloping down and a wavy horizontal water plain running into it. And I have not shown here a vertical back plain with a sky with proper horizon and perspective but it just isn't working!

Mom...you don't need Microscosm....it's just a texture :)...I use the textures for Micro. all the time in Vue for landscapes & water... & these are free :) Scroll down a bit & you'll see the ocean/water mats....they are just jpegs.Attached Link: http://www.stu-runham.co.uk/water.htm
This image is just a texture, with a displacement map.See my tutorial on water texture at

there was thraldom or another site who had a complex prop for p4 or above called "volumetric water" that was a sort of a multio layered plane prop with various water texture and trabsparancy. There is also a couple of beach outdoor props in the freebie section... finally you can use terragen to make a beach scenery then export the land as a 3d item for using it at a prop and combine it with volumetric water
Thanks for the great info. I am still looking for a $15 set. drapery I want is like for model posing but real mesh not like satin Studio that also has scale issues. Tried in material room even with those air fans and magnets but cant drape an arm chair properly... also need cloth hanging from wall as backdrop etc.
