Subject: Help ! Why are all my rendered videos black ??? (P5)

Today I tried a make a small movie to try out some dynamic cloth but my movies turn out to be completly black and empty. I tried different codecs but this isn't the problem it seems. When I render to single BMPs it works but no animations avi at all.

I think more info is needed. What happens when you render a single Pic using the Render command. Are your lights turned on? Is your camera pointed dirrectly at the lights? Try changing the angle of the camera to see what happens. Try rendering from a different camera. Have you modified the light settings at all or are you using the default settings?

When I render a single pic it is fine. Lights are set and the camera is pointed towards the character. I use some light from DAZ, they are fine but I never tried an animation before. When I made the movie I choose Current Render setting but I only get blackness.

I remember hearing about this problem, I can't remember the solution though :o( A search here might bring up something. I do believe it's codec-related. You have the latest Servicepack (4.1), right?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

IIRC, this happens if you set your screen depth to 16 bit. Try 24 or 32 bit.

Hi stewer this can be the solution ! My screen in set to 16 bit everytime I start up. Even if I set it higher it is 16 bit again after restart. I have this problem since a while but I ignored it because it was not so important. I will try if my movies come out good with a higher resolution.
