it's nice.. but steampunk it's not.. steampunk is the idea of taking modern concepts and applying Victorian engineering to them, eg clockwork computers ala the Difference Engine, coal powered aircraft etc.. don't get me wrong, it's nice and I like it.. as a general SF peice, but as a Steampunk, no.. it's not that...

Aery_Soul ( ) posted Sun, 04 July 2004 at 3:43 PM

Hi Khai, you're perfectly right in your definition. Now, try to expand your imagination and think about how an eslaved (now ex-slave since her chains are broken) girl could have been "dressed" in such an environment: in a steamy room where chains are to be found anywhere we thought she could have been dressed that way, sure they could have covered her some more but why waste precious metal for such purpose :)? Anyway, thanks for your remark, it's nice to see that there are Steampunk fans around. As Shanim & Siliphiel

lol nps I can do that.. but it just feels, well, modern rather than Victorian.. maybe it's the colours and the font.. the leather(?) being white and not brown and the font is well.. very modern.. I would have used a script rather than a 60's SF font..

Aery_Soul ( ) posted Sun, 04 July 2004 at 3:58 PM

Mh, yeah, interesting observations. I think we can actually take a look at the neck part to make it more steampunk, chainging the font and probably colours as well. Thanks for the useful remark, As Shanim & Siliphiel

Metal lacework would be cool. You know I'm going to buy it anyway-- nothing beats AS quality plus imagination. :) Emily

Hi Emily, what do you mean exactly with metal lacework? Have you got any reference? Cheers, Siliphiel

Queri, Metal Lace work. Hmmmmm. sounds like an interesting concept. I'm picturing laces with a Metalic look, rather than nylon or silk.

Aery_Soul ( ) posted Tue, 06 July 2004 at 2:59 PM

Mh, I see but I don't know. The basic concept is that of a very rigid suit and something like metalic lace wouldn't fit it, I guess you meant something a metallic net or something similar, maybe with different or more intricate patterns. I'm not convinced it would fit the mesh either since the claws, for example, are quite bumped and something with a trans map could look weird. As far as textures are concerned anyway I'm still working on them, the basic style now looks much more Steampunk even though the one that can be seen in the pic will still be in the package. I'm also working on making each piece a bit more realistic and I think the final result looks already nicer. We should be able to post the new pics by tomorrow :). Cheers, Siliphiel

Lookin better and better :-)

This is a beautiful outfit, one that I'd probably buy. It would be more useful to me, however, if it came with a blank texture (that is, one without numbers). If I wanted to have several models dressed in this outfit in one picture, it might be odd if they all had the same number.

Aery_Soul ( ) posted Fri, 09 July 2004 at 8:27 AM

Hi ghoyle, sorry, I have read your message only now. The texture you see is just the basic one, then there are 2 more smooth one that are basic reflections, also, there are 4 style for the neck piece (I mean only the leather part): one is the basic one with numbers, another is also with the numbers but in a different style, the third is in plain leather and a forth one is in a sort of plastic :). Thanks for you interest! ~*Siliphiel
