Saw this on the CG Channel recently.

It doesn't have all the features and flexibility of Poser yet, but Poser had exactly the same beginnings: as a visual tool for traditional-media artists who are studying figure-drawing.

I downloaded the demo out of curiosity.

Nice interface; but I've no idea what it does yet.

Looking at it on the screenshot there, it looks like it has a long way to go for user interface. But that's probably later on down the road.

Wow, very interesting. I notice it has a "sketch" feature of some sorts, could you perhaps show us an example? Thanks for letting us know about this. :) SnowS

It looks like it's just an artist's tool for anatomy studies and not much more: preset poses and the ability to change lights (within severe limits) and not much more. 3D Angry Man? Now that looks bizarre.

Here's a cropped picture of a sketch render.

Sean is right; as far as I can see, all the poses are presets (though they're animated, so you can render in-between stages) and the options are limited.

Also, the demo has a nag-screen which pops up every two minutes or so and prevents any genuine evaluation.

Thanks for that example, reminds me of the first two versions of Poser (which weren't much more than drawing aids anyway). :) Good to see that individuals are trying their hands at building a better Poser though. If we had some skilled programmers around here with a lot of extra time, we ought to try it too... ;) SnowS
